Made some good tackles and reminded me of a prime Samba Sow in the first half lol Also looked lethargic and half arsed at times.
I get that he's coming to a new league and he's got to learn the language but neither of those things prevent you from sprinting, which i've yet to see him do. If i'm wrong and he has been sprinting, then he's the slowest player we've ever had.
The first few pages of this thread are funny to go back through, considering how it's gone so far

I don’t think he was terrible. Got a foot in and actually played some nice passes. A few occasions spreading some lovely passes for Neco to run into space.

Needs match sharpness and can only get that from a run in the side. There’s definitely a player in there.

Agree that he wasn't necessarily bad yesterday but given this was the guy that was supposed to transform this team into something more when we signed him, he's never got anywhere near that, it feels like he's never managed to settle, AFCON didn't help that but if he was a good as we had hoped then the quality would've shone through.

Very much see him leaving in the summer, probably to another country.

Sangaré gives me the impression that he is just going through the motions at the moment and isn't happy. This isn't the same player with the same drive, power, determination and happiness that was on the pitch for PSV.
At moments during the first half he looked like that player every Sunday League team has. You know the one. He one of the best on his day but feels he shouldn't be playing at such a lowly standard and expects to move on to better thing in the near future(but never does). Got passed around far too easily.

I thought he got better as the match went on. That was because he was allowed more time on the ball to do what he does best and pick out the right pass. He needs to figure out how to play without such time though to have a future in this league.

There’s so much to unpack in this. I don’t believe for a second that Sangare doesn’t want to be here. Confidence, time on the pitch, time in the system and consistency are so so important for a player to be their best.

The adjustment period for any player coming into a team is variable, but the fact we do not have a settled team and we’re fighting for our lives at the wrong end of the table will mean that Sangare does not perform to his clear abilities immediately. Add to that moving to a new country, moving his family into a new house, having f***ing AFCON in the middle of it all, changing the manager/system AND struggling with injuries means the kid will not be at his best. Playing in the 6 or 8 in our system is so crucial; you have to understand so many things about the other players around you in order to make the positional and passing decisions that it will take time for him to understand where he needs to be, when and why.

Is it his fault? Maybe some of it is, but we could have Declan Rice in the middle of the park for us and he would struggle to perform at his best.

I’m not saying you’re entirely wrong, but you’re definitely not right. Elite athletes at this level don’t, generally, phone it in.

You make a fair point, my friend. But please do us a favour, the odd comma here and there wouldn’t go amiss ;)

In defence, I'd set that out over several paragraphs, but the posting seems to have jumbled it into one block.

Back to my school days, 4/10, must try harder 🤣

Calling it now, Ibrahim will finally grow into the role we bought him for in these last 9 matches given a fare go and start looking like a champion league performer, playing a crucial role in some much needed wins.

And breathe.

Has he got an international match to get injured in?

Spotted a post earlier on Twitter saying he has been withdrawn from the International team because of injury.

I feel for the lad, record signing tag with numerous stop starts within the season and just when you think it can't get much worst he is injured again.

(well i did feel for him although after a second of contemplation of him sitting on his arse collecting a massive salary every week has cooled that sentiment somewhat)

Lets hope its just a very well timed two week-er
