I agree-we seemed to have a knack in those days of producing silky mercurial footballers like Ian. Woan was just class and showed what you can do when you concentrate on a players abilities rather than their deficiencies.

He was known as the LSG ( lazy scouse git) for his languid style.

It was a term of affection rather than abuse.

The guy was my hero when I was a nipper, I wanted a left peg like Ian Woan (I'm sure every young Forest fan did) of course I had nothing of the sort . Glad he's doing well as a coach.
