I think the most important signing for us in Jan will be an experienced central defender. Sammy Hyypia would be idea - not getting regular 1st team football at Liverpool - he's only played 2 cup games and 2 league games, vastly experienced.

Someone of his stature would be a massive boost to the Club and help develop younger lads like Chambers.

I reckon he'd cost 1 - 1.5 million - 2 year contract. We have Andy Cole's wages spare!!

What does everyone else think - a realistic target??

I personally think we have too many defenders and need to get rid of Morgan, Breckin and Wilson.

Must keep Chambers however if we want to keep any stability at the back.

shouldn't that be the other way round.

get rid of chambers and keep the others. i don't really see how chambers brings stabillity

Chambers is out of his depth at present, Breckin has nowhere near the experience than Hyypia, Wilson & Morgan would come on for the competition.

We have enough forwards and too many midfielders - how can anyone say the squad has too many defenders when we are using Perch to cover at right back, Lynch who is on loan from a lower league club & Bennett who is injured?
