It's just... weird. How do people expect the likes of those to play in the bottom league in English football? They'd obviously only do it for the money, and bugger off when County mess up and start to lose.

I like County and wish them all the best for their sudden lease of life, but the sudden turn around is just obscene. No money to too much money? It's wrong.

Notts County won again.

And I for one am glad.

Put it this way, when coming home from the game listening to 103.8 or Radio Nottingham, After listening to Robin Chipperfield intervieweing the players, I always used to listen out for the County result.

I alwas wanted them to do well.

Now this season their supporters have some optomism for a change.

Obviously they will not reach the Championship in 5 years as going from league 1 to the championship is hard, but they are having their moment in the sun now, but ours will hopefully be more fufilling, acheiving promotion to the Premiership.

i think it will be quite achievable to get into the championship in 5 yrs. they mentioned champions league football in 5 yrs which is not realistic.

Funny how quick they forget......They are now kicking the Nottingham Rugby club out....Seem to forget that when they were struggling for money, the rugby club came in and gave them 50 grand straight away......

Now they have this arab money it seems forget those who helped them out.......

Lost all respect for them and will not be asking for their fans to give me a high 6 any more.........

It was interesting to hear the series of County-related calls to BBC Nottingham's "Matchline", each from a 'lifelong Pie fan' no less. It's probably the first time they've featured any Notts calls at all.

Also irritating was the West Brom fans' jeering when County's win was announced.

Nobody gives a shit.

These rumours make Notts fans laugh just as much as any other, of course they won't be coming it's just another journalist with nothing better to do with his/her time.

However, I do think they'll bring in one big name, not sure who though.

We're signing Johnnie Jackson today, I believe you were interested in him a few seasons back? Ex spurs now at Col u.

Other than Kasper and Karl Hawley, the rest of the squad are all free transfers and are players that are good enough for this division and some the divison above and appear to be doing ok so far.

The Rugby situation is a tricky one, what they fail to mention is that they haven't paid any payments on the rent for a long time.

To be fair a few years back we were seemingly linked with every player in spurs reserve team!

Hypotheticaly speaking - if you could choose to have Figo et al or not would you? Given that you have a squad already that is among the best in the league and signing world class players at a lower league level could possibly be detrimental?

I think that was when every week a new spudz player was named as part of a player plus cash deal for Reid.

I really don't think they're needed one bit, it would be silly to bring names in like that where we are currently placed.
The constant message is "structured investment" buying players reletive to the league we're in , and this appears to be true thus far.

Yes we might have paid over £1million for Kasper, but this to me is an investment and a keeper that could play in pretty much every division. We might have paid over the odds, but that's to be expected now day. I feel this is money well spent providing we get a good 5 years from him.

However bringing in the names mentioned would be simply daft, however I do think they might bring one big name in, but this would be sensible to a degree as it would create excitement and would merely be used to attract younger/new fans to the club and generally more PR.

We were told 4/5 new faces to complete the squad, with Kasper and Jackson signing then that really doesn't leave room for many others.

I'm not saying that I'd never want to see these players play in black and white, most fans would love to see top stars pay for their team, but not at this level or any other level than the Prem.

Someone mentioned Notts trying to get into the Champions League within 5 years, you must have this wrong as it's only ever been said that they're aiming for the Championship within 5 years, which providing we can get up this year is potentially viable.

I'm not sure how good the squad depth is at the Pies, but certainly their first team is easily good enough to get promoted from League Two. McParland was doing some good work before the Svenvolution happened and it will inevitably be overshadowed.

Interesting as I never really thought he'd make it as a manager, he's starting to prove me wrong in my mind.

Quite, he had us playing some of the best footy I've seen at ML for first quarter of last season, but when you're budget stretched as far as Delroy Facey and injury prone players ( Nowland ) then you're always going to be up against it.

To be honest, Sven being here simply allows CM to do what he's good at.....coaching.

The signings are all CM's singings bar Kasper, a lot of those that played on sat were either already here or, signed before the take over.
The signings of players like Hughes and Davies, are the players we missed last year and will be the difference this season, and players that would be out of reach when run by trust that simply hasn't got the £££ to fund such players.

As much as I like Charlie, it is quite funny to see him portrayed as this tragic fall guy in the new look Notts regime.

The old 'Pies board was hawking his job around as early as January last season. The truth is that the arrival of Svennis and Munto has probably saved his bacon. He's virtually unsackable now, on account of the principles behind such a move.

He struggled a bit with Paul Hart syndrome - sticking to a system in spite of not having players capable of doing it. Most of the signings made were free and before Munto/Sven details were confirmed... I hear what you're saying, but I do think you're underplaying his own merit in starting to turn around Counteh's fortunes.

As for principles and unsackability, Munto's treatment of the Rugby club suggests principles aren't exactly top of their agenda.
