Live in London and would normally go to every game down here. Have at least 6 forest mates down here I'd go to the games with who live in London and I've only just realised we're playing Fulham tomorrow. No ones been in touch to tee me up and I've only just noticed the fixture, seriously sad times!

I contemplated it, but have ultimately decided to run an old mattress to the council tip.

Not having it. This is progress and anyone who doesn't enjoy being sat 19th and watching shite football whilst we search for any remotely competent board staff; over challenging for the playoffs and playing good football, or having a club legend have us top half and restructuring the club professionally, wants their head looking at.

You're mates must have fallen out with you or summat, coz we're still clearly progressing massively.

The lack of creativity and goalscorers which Dougie has left us with will make it worth the admission price alone.

I can't help but think that whichever poor sod gets the title of manager of NFFC will not only be battling all the elements of football but also feel the wrath of all the comparisons of previous people that have held the post.

I know it's natural to compare but I would love it if we judged a manager and the circumstances in which they are managing in for what they are instead of taking the approach that if this manager was sacked then he should be sacked.
I've not really offered much of an opinion on Dougie both while he was here or since he's been sacked as there has been that many problems at this club for that long that I never felt for one minute that he would even make a dint of difference both on and off the pitch.
I believe that this will be Fawaz last throw of the dice. And maybe he is genuinely trying to get MON in (won't happen) but until he changes the way he runs the club (won't happen) the next manager may bash a dint or two out but sadly for me it will still be a pigs ear in the end.

Good post. However I don't think some posters have the mental capacity to look at the situation (mess) the club finds itself in and adjust expectations accordingly.

I mean some still are adamant SOD was shit despite having no defence 2 weeks before the season start and a relegation battle the year before, yet he still had us a point outside playoffs. :D

Yeah I agree about Sod and I didn't want him sacked but I do think he was being overhyped but in fairness like I have always said he never got given the time to show what he could do. What was impressive looking back is he bought some awful players but we were still 8th-9th. My apprehension is whether he would continue buying bad players or if he would evolved. Considering as you said he had 3 weeks to get people in it would be nice to see him finish a couple of seasons.

In terms of apathy yeah I really couldn't give a toss about today and I can't wait to play cricket. I just want this season to end, a manager to come in, injuries to come back and the embargo end.

Sadly, this also applies to the owner.

I can see this quickly descending into the usual haranguing regarding managers past. Another thread to put on ignore I fear.

Sums up another shit season.

Things to talk about...
1. Apathy towards the club
2. Who is the next guy to be sacked at Christmas
3. FFP
4. Clueless owner
5. Past managers
6. Boring football
7. Injuries
8. Overpaid sweethearts
9. Brian Clough

Has your account been recently hacked by a sulky teenager?

Yes I've had enough of the club being run 'on a wing and a prayer' whilst other clubs accelerate past us into the 21st Century. I do feel that the club has come full circle and arrived back pretty much where it was when I first began going to games. It's a strange feeling and feels like a crossroads for me.

Forest will always be my team, but that doesn't mean I have to go to games. I'm bored of the Championship with it's increasing predictability and lack of quality below the top 4/5. It's beginning to resemble the Premier League, and I'm beginning to wonder why I'm watching both. I may as well just go and watch the Premier League.

Aye.

I was around at my mates last night who is a Derby fan but very knowledgeable on all things football. He asked me who I want to be manager, and I didn't have an answer. I honestly don't know but I did say it doesn't really matter unless the whole club is restructured.
Whoever comes here what are their chances of seeing a season out?
He's basically got to have us mid table or higher with no losing runs in the first six months, possibly without any money to spend and a long injury list.

Sounds great, apply within.

I dont think its even that hard mate, i still maintain just getting your side to play football how its expected will get you time at this club. Its no coincidence that folk still mention SOD.

The conclusion that forest suddenly deciding to play football will mean we get beat every week is frankly a load of made up f***ing bollocks.

SOD got the most consistent results and we played decent football, probably the balance we would all settle for.
Having said that he didn't have to deal with the injuries that Davies, Pearce and Freedman did.

I hope we ship a few of them out to be honest, it's become beyond boring seeing someone limp off the pitch every other week.
That way the new manager might stand half a chance.

One thing I've tried to do is accept mediocrity and it's difficult because the media are all for everything is the best ever or everything is the worst ever. Mediocre is such a rare thing in football nowadays.
I mean we have a player that puts in a couple of decent performances and they are the next great saviour. Then their form drops off and they are forgotten.
I was reading the other day that Dexter Blackstock deserves credit for his current form but he's doing his job ffs. He's scored a couple of goals and now it's let's build him up.
For me this has been a problem at the club for a long time, Too many false dawns. Long runs of great followed by longer runs of poor.
Don't get me wrong I'm all for supporting the players. But we need to keep our feet on the ground in both instances IMO. The tremors that we create are not helping the one thing we need to reach out for before we even start to move forward and that is stability.

I would never attend a game at the tail end of the season where we've no permanent manager in charge.

Complete waste of time, money and effort.

Broke the mattress and the bed frame down into pieces and got it into the bins. Quite pleased with myself.

Rightly so, breaking a mattress into pieces must have been a mission.

Then getting them in the right bins. Theyre f***ing precious about what goes in what bins at them recycling centres. I wait til they aint watching and lob my crap in anyhow.
