For £15m I'm shocked that no other teams are in for him. Or that we didn't just pay the amount.

If we do get him we'll probably have a better offensive unit than we did under Hughton the season before last.

Totally agree, don't take our recruitment team for mugs. You get an offer, you make your mind up or we move on and your left panicking in the last week of the window.

They are so blatantly using our name to try and lure another team into the bidding, despite the fact that we've obviously moved on having landed our first choice target in MGW. 😂

Still don't believe we even got as far as actually making a bid. Too many inconsistencies in the stories from the French press, and a silence that spoke volumes from the usual credible journos.

Aouar is in his prime. I understand the money would be eye-watering but surely he wouldn't move to Saudi at this point in his career.

Personally I don't understand why Man Utd aren't all over this.

From a really quick look hes being discussed as an option for Liverpool, Palace and Leicester in recent days but not really by anyone apart from fans discussing him being a cost effective option.

Think we have moved on because Lyon changed the deal at the last minute and we got MGW quite soon after tbh, he'll go somewhere on deadline day but not to us.

I think this was probably all rubbish really. It served two purposes, firstly it gave Wolves and MGW a nudge saying if you don't sign we'll get Aouar. Secondly it got Aouars name out there for a move.

I haven't checked but it wouldn't surprise me at all if his agent also represents another player we've bought so we're doing him a favour.

I was convinced MGW deal was dead in the water when we got Lingard.
