If he does sign, do we see him as a Lingard esque player? If so, we have Yates/Mangala/Freuler/O'Brien for two of the box to box roles..

One of Aouar/Lingard for the #10 role

Two from Awoniyi/Johnson/Dennis/Surridge for the advanced roles??

I'd say that's Cafu/Taylor/Mighton out (young Alex on loan) but possibly keeping Colback for his versatility??

If so, I'd say we're better stocked in the middle/top than we are at the back..

There's no reason to keep Colback.

Sorry Jack, but you're d sixth choice centre mid sat best and third choice LWB at best.

Wish him well but his time here his up and it's in his interest to move whilst his stock is reasonably high. WBA awaits.

Yeah....some decent ones there! Injera is a weird one, but great with a selection of dishes on top as you say. Could have done with being spicier, wasn't quite as complex as I'd heard.

Thai and Lebanese places are everywhere over here. Mexican outside of your standard Tex-Mex is very good.
Many years ago I travelled round Mexico - I mean "real" arse end of nowhere Mexico (Montezuma did have a terrible revenge at one point) but I was in the Yucatan for a while and their cuisine is very unusual, linked but also distinct from the rest of Mexico - very interesting lots of putting together ingredients I've never come across before - they use alot of turkey and pork which is with eggs and tomato and fruits in the same dish as well that was weird but very tasty.

Queso Relleno is a hollowed out Edam cheese stuffed with ground meat, raisins, olives, hardboiled eggs, and seasoned with various spices. The cheese is steamed and topped with a tomato and white sauce. Enjoy banditos!!

I agree, mate. My only thought was he was a regular part of the team last year. The other three were bit part players in the Championship and Coops clearly doesn't think they're good enough. I agree with you though, if we sign this guy, Jack won't get a game.

Hes actually 2nd choice LB at present until the mystery "fracture" heals (which is such an odd story in itself) and whilst quality-wise hes clearly well down the CM pecking order now theres a bit of settling in for the foreign lads to do so I wouldn't completely write him off just yet, particularly as hes had a full pre-season and is fit.
I also get the impression hes very popular in the dressing room and so "forcing him out" might not go down with some of the lads.

So all-in-all not a totally straight forward situation. If an offer came in an Jack wanted to go, I suspect no one would stand in his way but if that doesn't happy I'd keep him in the squad...

I haven't seen Aouer play, but despite all the champions league talk presumably there's a limit to good he can be if he's freely available for £15m but no-one is snapping him up at that price?

Don’t speak too soon…. I’m still too new a poster to know how to embed tweets, but apparently he’s now wanted by Palace which, if true, will surely make this story a MGW/Pratley/Whittingham lite.

Its confusing this one, the player according to the French press has agreed everything but the clubs need to agree the fee.

I find it convenient though that at this point Palace show an interest presumably so that Lyon can essentially use that as leverage to boost the price from what we have offered to what they say Palace are prepared to pay and how they will pay it.

We have been rumoured to have offered £10m, possibly staged payments but my guess would be that Lyon would want £15m all up front. They can be pretty good at selling players, they got nearly £60m for Ndombele! Not sure how it will end up but I think the player isn't delaying things.

Something's not right here- as others have said all along.

There's no chance we'd be willing to spunk £42m on MGW and not £15m on a player of this calibre.

I think OL may be playing games.

It does feel like this guy and Maupay will go elsewhere. It’s already been a great window but it won’t be easy to get 3-4 more in. Asking prices will be high and we won’t be able to offer most players a guaranteed starting place.

We shouldn’t be hasty on Colback. He’s decent back-up in a couple of positions and I do think retaining some continuity within the squad is important

My reading is the player's only interested in what we'll pay him and we've agreed a package he's happy with, the club are financially shot so they're holding out for all they can get and any bidding war is welcome as far as they're concerned. Consensus seems to be that he had an awesome year a few year ago but hasn't lived hit those heights since which has meant the interest from some clubs has waned and they've moved on so there's less interest, also the people that rated him then like at other clubs like Arsenal might not be the same people there now and they've got other plans so again a reason why they're no longer in for him. The lure of Palace might well be more about working with a legend of a French game in Viera, so that is a concern...

He owns 40% of both.

But surely if Lyon need to sell, the first call is to Palace?

If Forest had a buyer not prepared to meet their price on a player, not too much imagination needed on EM's part to have Oly enter the race to apply a bit of pressure.

If I've was a buyer and I saw that if he b the first to say "don't try that shit on me, do you think I'm daft, mi duck?"

Don't forget that ego's can often destroy negotiations. Know the battles to lose and win the wars. 10m or 20m on this type of caliber of player is a battle we should concede. Close quickly, move on. Their happy and were happy when were top 10 vs bottom 10.

I hadn't thought about that but yes, prize money for 10th place is about £24m and 17th is £9m, in reality either suit us but the difference a player like this could make one more likely than the other.

I can't see this or the Maupey deal happening. 5 days down the line now with both and no further on. I can see both going elsewhere

I think we've been spoilt by the speed and efficiency of our transfer dealings this summer.

If you look at Spence to Spurs, Rabiot to Man U'td or most other transfers, they can drag on for ages.
