I think you could be right here. There will possibly be a (small) reduction in Top tier and middle tier memberships, and they will sell as many third tier as they can, partly to see what the current ceiling is, then review next summer.

Which sucks for the third tier members I guess.
It was going to suck for somebody, demand is too high to not piss off a certain section of people.

I think in general the demand for tickets last season was much higher than they expected it to be.

Well

I take back, begrudgingly, my moans about season ticket price increases. In comparison that was far less of a dry bumming than these memberships

Best part of a ton to get a better chance to pay thick end of 40quid for a match ticket. Not guaranteed, just a better chance than those who pay 65quid. And you can only be in this exclusive club if you were already in it last year

Unfortunately, I don’t have an easy answer to anything better. The clubs damned if they do and damned if they don’t on these memberships

I have updated the poll and cleared the previous results; would be interested to see folks‘ thoughts this season.

£95 does guarantee a ticket if you want one, plus it gets you on the waiting list for a season ticket. Two years ago that would certainly have been a rip off, but given the demand for tickets here and now I’d say it’s decent value. If and when the new stand is built they will get their season tickets if they want them.

A ballot system would have been nice, but was never going to happen when they can offer memberships and know full well they’ll sell out.

To be fair to the club, it is quite difficult to make it equitable. I have supported Forest since the 1950's but moved away from Nottingham in 1980. Latterly I've largely attended away matches only but that avenue was completely closed to me once Forest became a premier league club. The basic membership gives me a window even if it's a small one!

My silver family membership seems to have gone from £50 up to £190 as have to buy two memberships!

At least I get a scarf, keyring and a digital match programme (but only one programme as under 16s don't get it but pay the same price!?).

So, those with a membership get benefits?

Have I missed something? Do Season Ticket holders get a free gift, retail discounts, monthly promotions and much more?

I thought the same thing, don't see why season card holders wouldn't be eligible for the same benefits.

Gold/Silver from last season is the new Gold(Pro)
Bronze from last season is the new Silver(Plus)
Anyone else who wants to fork out £35 is the new Bronze(Member)

The three tiers are still there in effect. The club have just made that third MyForest Member tier unlimited so they can make a lot more money.

Last game I went to was Wigan away in 2013 and I don't get free gifts, retail discounts, monthly promotions or much more.

I must have read it wrong, it says guaranteed ticket access. If there’s more members than there are available tickets, then they can’t guarantee a ticket. Not seen numbers of members so I’m not sure what the craic is there

In reality the club need generate more income, bi product of success and life in the PL.

It was only Bronze who didn’t have the guarantee of a ticket last season.

It’s the same this year, but will probably be less Gold/Silver/Bronze renewing.

£35 for a third choice when most never made it past 1st or 2nd? f*** off, Forest.
"11 years as a SC holder, thanks but we've got look after Premier league Pete now."
You're pissing me off.
You'll get a free gift though.

*But you'll have to pay postage & I guarantee it won't be a scarf in a nice box like on the pic.

Yep. There's just not enough supply to satisfy demand. Anything the club tries is going to get some peoples backs up inevitably.

We badly need the Peter Taylor stand redevelopment to happen sooner rather than later.

Just doing some sums. For my 10 year old son and I - I will go from a £60 family membership To 2 full members at £95 each.

Guessing at £40/ticket for me and £10 for my son - just 8 games comes to more than an ST would for both of us. And if we go to all the games it will be 2 x as much.

I guess I’m lucky to have access to tickets…

Could have raised just as much, if not more by accepting a deal for shirt back advertising last season but the clever cuts both knew better and that they could always have more out of the loyal fan base so it doesn't really matter anyway.

Every game was a massive sellout last year, so we can't really be surprised that the cost of membership has gone way up. £95 for a guaranteed chance to buy a ticket sounds like a much better deal than £65 to join a scrum.

It's a treadmill, though. Once you stop and don't buy, you can never regain your place on the treadmill

I don't think Forest could win here. They had to make it possible for more people to have a chance of getting a ticket and the new bottom level reflects that. At the same time, they couldn't make any of last year's members disappear, nor could they just dump them into the wider pool with people who didn't have a membership last year.

In reality the significant cost increase of the higher levels is probably designed to try to thin them out a bit with people not wanting to pay so much on top of having to buy tickets, I doubt that will work in light of the supply/demand issues though and people will get their credit cards out and pay it. The one thing that wouldn't totally surprise me, especially after the ticket scramble experience last year, would be Bronze members balking at paying £65 with no ticket guarantee and not bothering paying more than the £35.

The £35 tier is going to be a total crapshoot of course and few tickets will get through to it, but for me the key thing is the access to the ticket exchange. Once tickets have 'sold out' people won't be living on the site and tickets will come up on there fairly regularly through the week if this year is anything to go by, so those of us willing to keep an eye on it will have a chance with the £35 tier I would think.

It isn't perfect, and paying £60 for the low opportunity of getting tickets, especially two together to take one of my kids now and again, won't be enjoyable. But aside from ballots (which they insisted to me they can't do more than once on the phone last year) this seems like the best the club could do.

The real mess was made with the ill thought through membership system a year ago and it'll cause issues for years unless we go down.
