.

How would 'nobody' get a ticket? There would still the the same number of tickets, so the same number of people would get one, just not always the same people.

I missed the boat to get a membership at all last season and, as a result, had almost no opportunity at all. Now I'm concerned I might be prevented from getting a membership for the foreseeable future and therefore prevented from ever seeing a game.. .
The logical thing to do would be to hold back a few tickets for general sale or invite people who missed out on home memberships to be able to buy tickets on the Exchange after a time had passed. That would involve them empathising with the fans which this new ticket regime have failed so badly to so.

Scrapping the loyalty scheme was the worst thing that the club could have done.

Most PL clubs offer tickets through such schemes, so why Forest decided to go down another route, is beyond me.

There is no easy answer, but some transparency would be appreciated. Like others, I see people at away games. that do not have a membership, or even a season ticket. I have been at some away games, to see empty seats, where the corporates couldn't be bothered to turn up.

The commercial side is a joke. Premier League clubs have Megastores, not a "club shop", often duplicated in a city centre location. These are stocked to the hilt, with all the merch and a constant supply of shirts. If our supplier can't supply, then get rid of them and get someone in that can.
I was lucky enough to get tickets through the Wednesday scramble and got all the away games bar one. I was also shocked at the number of empty seats I saw regularly. Also I know people who don’t even have season tickets who were getting tickets for every away game via supporters clubs. I don’t have an issue with people doing this 2-3 times a season, but some people literally had a de-facto away season ticket for paying £20. I also heard that away members were banned from using their branch to apply for tickets to free them up
for others which is even more bizarre

This update is to update you that there is no update.

If there is an update to this update we will update this update to update you.

Do we think it’s be fair of away games weee tiered so say the likes of Man City, United, Arsenal etc are tier 1 and Spurs, Villa, Chelsea tier 2 (cause Chelsea are shit). Then Forest say to everyone you can each have say x2 tier 1 tickets a season, x2 for tier 2 etc, meaning everyone has a fair share of at least say 6 away games to go to a season? Or would that not work?

The better way is to have fewer memberships than there are tickets available.

That way, those who want to stump up, up front, will get tickets, but....and here's the amazing part.... OTHER PEOPLE can get tickets.

If you do this with home membership too, then the WFCG stops being a closed-shop.

NFFC said they wanted to avoid the City Ground being a closed shop, before implementing a membership scheme that made it into a closed shop....

Sounds simple but then you get the issue of who gets these memberships?

I got to 9 games on my number last season without a membership but some bronze people didn't make more than 2 games. Does that mean. I shouldn't get membership?

It's complicated and our ticketing office aren't paid enough to detail with this stuff

If you got 9 home games without a membership and you weren't using others tickets or memberships then the system clearly worked well a d it isn't a closed shop.

I imagine the biggest issue is people don't want to sit on their own, but unfortunately that's going to happen.

I went to 7 home and 2 away under my own number and a further 3 home and 1 away via borrowed means.

My 3 home were Man Utd cup (when all the members suddenly wanted to go to the league cup games despite ignoring em up to that point), Liverpool at home and then Arsenal.

But it was ridiculously hard though. For most of the time the ticket exchange wasn't open to none members, but on quite a few days, on the day of the match they lifted that restriction.

I got a ticket to Wolves 90mins before kickoff

It's hard to do this though and if I don't get a membership this season not sure I will go to the effort again.

I think the damning one was the Southampton game where I managed to get 4 tickets. Showed that when people didn't believe, tickets came up (I got 3 for Brighton)

Again I swear I had history but no membership

I don't think anyone wants to target the loyal fans, people just wait something that is a fairer distribution than: "Here you 400, have everything, everyone else fight amongst yourselves at 10AM on a Weds."

With respect you are taking one issue out of context in my post -

My theme was rewarding loyalty of fans based on several seasons by continuing the system which actually rewarded loyalty, and not just limited to 400.

1. I suggested that the previous system was reintroduced.
2. If not, then a second priority be introduced based on the seasons prior to promotion.
3. I suggested that there should be a review of the away members system to check the practice of passing on tickets to non-members. Those found in breach of the policy should receive penalties for breaches including forfeiture of away membership.
4. I suggested that their should be more openness about the number of tickets not allocated to away members by reference to the number of tickets allocated to players, officials and Executive travel.

Adopting the above proposals would ensure more tickets go to the most loyal supporters who have paid away membership fees for years, and travelled far and wide to support the team.

I‘m pleased that Forest introduced last season the system to enable season card holders to allow their seats to be used in their absence - this benefits -

1. The season card holder who receives a refund of 1/19th of the seasonal cost towards the cost of the season card the following season.
2. The Club who are likely receive a higher cost than the refund.
3. Home members who are able to attend the games.
4. The team who benefit from a fuller capacity ground.

It shows that solutions can be found to the benefit of all.

Except the thorny question of who gets to go to away games…

Ah fair enough, the ticket exchange needs revamping. I couldn't go to Villa as I had COVID, posted my ticket in the morning didn't sell by 3pm I took it down and tried to give it to a mate but no-one was free. At that point the tickets should be for anyone as it's pointless waiting for members only.

So what I was told was that if it sells out at a certain tier then even if tickets become available after it never leaves that tier on the exchange.

However a lot of games got opened up to everyone of the day of the game. Particularly Wolves, Man Utd (league) and Newcastle which I got to without a membership. All of which cost me hours of my life refreshing. But then Arsenal, despite tickets coming up and non members going to Brighton and Southampton was never opened up to none members, thankfully I got a ticket off someone but I was still annoyed at the hypocrisy around opening up the exchange.

I live two and a half hours away so tickets becoming available on the day is no use at all to me. I definitely feel like tickets are unavailable to me.

This excellently written article by Forza Garabaldi last season is a great review of last season’s scheme and also gives a thorough review of how tickets are sold at other Premier League clubs which contradicts Forest’s claims that last season’s scheme was modelled on other clubs
I hadn't read that before. Makes for interesting reading and just about what we have all said on here recently.

That’s a great piece by FG and highlights how bad our away ticket allocation operates compared to nearly all other Premier clubs.
I’m pretty sure the club don’t want to alienate 90% of their fan base. They must know of the strength of feeling and I’d expect some attempt to address our scheme for this season.

Al keep bangin the drum... Forest don't give a toss about it's fantastic supporters.

The worst club in the country for club/fans relationship by a country mile.

They'd play behind closed doors if they could, trouble with that though, is they'd go straight down to the Isthmian league.

If they don’t radically change policy it would send a clear message that they don’t give a f—-. Let’s see what happens.
