Have we actually found a competent Left Back?

if so, we need to tie him down to a 10 year contract, Lord knows how rare a beast a Competent Left Back is!

In seriousness, its only one game against a poor team, but he seem to have a good debut, no? that Ebecilio seemed decent too before he ran out of steam

Trickie Trees

Stuart Pearce
Steve Hodge was complimentary about both new debutants. Dougie's doing a good job picking out some decent new players slowly but surely. Now for a striker or two.

Viv Anderson
Give the lad a few more games before judging him. He does have the massive advantage of danny fox being his predecessor though. :)

He played well, no doubt..... BUT bolton gave us more time on the ball than I have ever seen in a match before. It looked like a training excercise, at one point I saw hobbs walking the ball foward and I thought he was walking it to a free kick position, it was actually in play. I can't as stress how much time bolton gave us.

Here is the one negative I saw with pinillos, he wanted too much time on the ball. Even in these conditions he got into trouble twice. He had a good debut, and that should come out of his game easily. But wait until we play a high pressing team before we cast any judgement.

It's all about mid-table...

Bit worrying if true mate, I thought Wolves gave us far too much room last season at their place but we put them to the sword.

Need a cutting edge soon.

Have you ever played fifa on the easiest setting? The opposition back off and back off until you are about 30 yards out, it was just like that.

The thing that stopped us taking Bolton to the sword were key errors from key players. Lansbury screwed up a through ball to Walker literally passing it to their keeper (he was in a decent shooting range himself). I would never expect him to do it again so i'm not picking on him, just an unfortunate error. Antonio got one on one and hit a really tame effort while Burke was square, once again just a key error. 9/10 Antonio would've at least made it difficult for the keeper. Jack Hobbs arrived at a ball on the far post and seemed to get caught in two minds between vollying it and diving headering, in the end he kind of stooped to header it, then brought his foot up to control it. Controlling it out. There are others, on a different day we could've had a few. However so could Bolton, its really easy to see why they arent scoring, they just miss. Far too much! A bit more clinical from both sides and it could've been 3-3!!

P.S this is all second half, first half was dreary.

Exactly as I expected, and why Lans and Antonio will never be top league (if they are they'll be embedded on the bench).

What's Fifa on easiest setting??

That's why they only showed a few minutes of the first half. Looked like Lichaj was slow to close down some cup dangerous crosses.

I'm more confused than ever.

WHAT IS IT??

It's a computer game Raymondo - for consoles and Personal Computers.

It's a simulation of the beautiful game, you can take over any team you like and guide them to victory.

Playing one game on it entitles you to be a better Football Manager than any former ex-professional player who's spent years in the game and has all their coaching badges and a signed photograph of Jose Mourinho.

Its one of the reasons that being 12th in February, not passing a team to death and a player not being an instant success is deemed not good enough.
To be honest, I think, generally speaking, the younger fans are a bit more patient than the elder. We've always been shit to the youngsters, but older fans remember when we punched above our weight. The 'x out' posts I've seen back in the days where I'd venture onto Twitter usually come from people aged 35-55. The same can be said of those shrieking abuse at matches.

As with many other areas of life, the young are unfairly judged.

I'm bang in the middle of your target age range but I'm more than happy to give a manager time to build his team here and to implement his ethos.

No recent manager has had this. The last one we probably hung on to to let him build was Colin Calderwood.

Our recent short-termism, sacking managers after six months is pointless and rightly we've gotten nowhere.

Agreed, and obviously I'm not saying it's all-encompassing, it's just what I've noticed during my own time following the club.

Good point.

To be fair i dont go on twitter, id probably end up in trouble for putting a few in their place when the daft comments started coming out.

I used to enjoy hearing a bloke sat near me in upper BC in that age bracket shouting "gerrit fo wad" under SOD who was shouting "pass the bloody thing" not to long ago.... No pleasing some folk

It'd be a full-time job, Bill! It's completely ridden with the stupidest amongst us. There's the odd insightful poster in there that's worth reading, but you really do have to wade your way through the rest.
