I don't know Florence - I've only spent time in Lexington, Cynthiana and Louisville, and I'm no expert, but is Kentucky not generally considered is culturally southern, even if it's not geographically?

I’m not from that area but my understanding of this is it’s a mix. Northern half of Kentucky has industry which makes it seem more mid west but then the south half is like the rest of the south. Eastern Kentucky gets confusing too because of the Appalachian mountains and West Virginia.
