Would be a decent signing. Also Nick Bailey at Charlton, can't believe that no championship club signed him after his performance last year in a relegated team.

Not sure we need a new midfielder though. We should sign Majewski permenantly before we worry about any other signings.

If a good player is available for a cut rate price , why not ?

Majewski is a good player but since being put into the advance role behind the strikers , he hasn't really been shining as he did in the early parts of the season , don't think that role suits him or he hasn't adapted as he isn't involved in the buildup of a move as much as he had been when he was playing in the normal midfield role. Seemed to be drifting in and out of the game which is dissapointing. His ability to spot a pass is good but he needs to do it more.

why do people feel that we need to clog up our squad full of rejects?

Who said either of those will be available at a cut rate price? I'd venture Scunthorpe would rather hold onto him and lose him for nothing at the end of the year than sell at a cheap price as he'll be a key part in them staying up or not. Just because they haven't offered him a contract yet doesn't mean they're not going to.

I'd rather we looked at a left back and wingers first.

I think you will find that will all change once Blackstock comes back and we can start playing 4-4-2 again.

He doesn't seem to be the same player when we play 5 across midfield.

I think he's played better in the games we've played 4-5-1 and gets more goals in that system. The one time we've played him in a straight 4-4-2 was against Watford (unless you want to count Bradford in the Carling Cup) and whilst he got on the scoresheet that night the whole team were awful. His best performances have come when we've been lined up as a 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 with McGoldrick or Majewski in the hole behind him. I'd be suprised if we switched formations when he came back in to be honest.

Think your right.

It can take players a fair few games to settle into a position Cohen being a good example of that. Playing in a reasonabley confident team should help mind.

Majewski played better when he's part of a normal midfielder role with McGoldrick playing behind Dex because he's involved more in the play buildup whereas when he plays in the hole behind the lone striker , he's playing further forward and isn't involved as much in the buildup and doesn't see as much of the ball. That's the difference.

PVHS has a point there.

this summer we have bought no rejects at all, and that has kept the squad fresh and performing well.

Why should we start buying them now?
