Sauce salad?
His returns from left wing are good, so I think he competes for that spot. Whether he's thought of as a starter remains to be seen - he hasn't been recently at Dortmund.Whose place in the team does he take?

Dortmund play much more of a physically pressing game, and they didn‘t think he was up to that as much as they needed, which was one reason they brought back Sancho, who will do the physical stuff. His returns from left wing are good, so I think he competes for that spot. So he’s swapped a German bench for an English one.His returns from left wing are good, so I think he competes for that spot. Whether he's thought of as a starter remains to be seen - he hasn't been recently at Dortmund.
CHO.Whose place in the team does he take?
We need depth on the wings, I expect plenty of game time between CHO and Reyna. Also we need 4 wingers at the club and we only have 3. So we are short in this area.So he’s swapped a German bench for an English one.
Or we bin off an English youth with potential who’s on our books, for an American youth with potential who’s on some Germans’ books (and has only started one game this season).
Given our current context of FFP and league position I don’t get this one, but will be happy to be proven wrong if he starts pulling up trees.
Dominguez isn’t a winger though. He has slotted in as a makeshift and done a job because a) we have a surplus of midfielders b) we have no wingers.Hmmmmm. I think Dominguez should be starting instead of CHO. I don't see how Reyna plays, unless a) he's really good or b) MGW gets injured
I feel the same. I really feel like the team is one player short for the run in attack. We need depth on the wings, I expect plenty of game time between CHO and Reyna. Also we need 4 wingers at the club and we only have 3. So we are short in this area.
Well competition is good, as are fresh legs in a position we are short in, as well as cover for Morgan (which is the role he sees himself as best in).So he’s swapped a German bench for an English one.

He's American, he'll land in Meadow Lane and manage to accidentally kill someone in the process. We want to see him parachuted in and landing on top of the BC stand.
On the left in a 4-2-3-1 will be good, but when we want to be a bit more compact seeing him and MGW in a narrow 2 behind Big T could also be interesting....His returns from left wing are good, so I think he competes for that spot. This one?I'm just reading a fluff piece on The Athletic.
Comparisons so far are to Iniesta, Odegard and De Bruyne. Certainly enough to whet the appetite.
It will be interesting to see how this works with MGW.
I've seen a few dribbles like that in his highlights - seems he's one of those that have the natural ability to beat people while making it look effortless. (Something I've never been able to do!)This one?
What kind of player can Gio Reyna become? It's time to find out
A loan move to Forest from Dortmund, where he once ranked among football’s best prospects, is a chance to get the fairytale back on tracktheathletic.com
He sounds more like a possession player than someone who will fit into a counter-attacking team, and as you intimate he doesn't seem a natural fit with MGW. However we can't expect MGW to play every minute of every game and Reyna does appear to give cover across a few positions and tactical flexibility.
Mind you, Messi wasn't quick either and he did alright (and reading the Athletic, Reyna could be mistaken for a young Messi ).
That 15 second dribble referred to doesn't seem anything particularly special to me though, the Mexicans weren't exactly pressuring him...
Yes, that's the one.This one?

Definitely getting crunched in the EPL.That 15 second dribble referred to doesn't seem anything particularly special to me though, the Mexicans weren't exactly pressuring him...
I think it might be the other way around, because we know from Dortmund Reyna can make an impact from the bench. And CHO is ours of course.^^^^That was my concern (as posted yesterday). Reyna couldn‘t get a sniff at Dortmund as he was never going to get in ahead of Marco Reus or Julian Brandt, and he didn‘t seem to fancy playing wider.
However, he has played a wider attacking role before, and he can do it. He could of course also play alongside MGW in a narrower formation behind Taiwo, which might work, but would need width from the full-backs, and there, you are probably leaving out Elanga, which would be desperately unfair on him as he has been very good so far this season.
So for my money, Reyna replaces CHO, who becomes more of an impact sub.
