Top lad. Right up there with Chrissy Cohen.

Thinking about it we do have some really good characters in our squad - the opposite of what's afflicting Aston Villa and Newcastle.

All of the below demonstrate real passion, professionalism and work rate. They're not bad players either.

Cohen (obviously)
Gardner
Hobbes
Mills
Ward
Tesche
Lichaj
Osborn

Vaughan, Mancienne, De Vries etc are also good pros, but the guys above are off the charts in terms of all action, fist-pumping character.

Think Oliveira & Mendes should make your main list. With maybe Tesche dropping down to the secondary one.

Tbh I don't know enough about their personalities. They might well deserve it, but I'd like to see a full season and hear more about their general conduct.

Tesche deserves it not only for his battling performances, but things I've heard about him off the pitch. Pearce spoke of his professionalism in training. He then stopped playing and so asked to go on loan to Brum where he won over Gary Rowett instantly. At that point Dougie didn't fancy him until he saw how he behaved in pre-season, making him completely change his mind and keep him. He seems to impress every manager he trains under.

Mills and Ward came here with reputations for being big dressing room personalities and have done nothing to make me doubt that.

This has been a big part of what Dougie had achieved in his time here. So many times under previous managers we had no leaders...the type that stand up and be counted when the going gets tough. Now we've got plenty of them and it shows. Then tightening up at the back and making us hard to beat. The next step is adding creativity and I think we're starting to get there. All really good signs that the building blocks are being put in place to make us competitive at the right end of the table.

A very important change in the squad led by Freedman.
He wants strong characters and players who will fight for the shirt and the club.

The longer Freedman has been here the more he is winning me over. Forest have had a long recent history of hiring players at the end of their careers who are after a last pay day. Freedman's recruitment and the type of players he is employing is transforming us as a club.

I am beginning to believe he is changing from an interim manager who can manage during crisis to being a long term manager who can continue to transform us as a club.

He is now in a phase where we have a formula to put together long unbeaten runs. The next phase he is in is transforming those runs into winning runs. The emergence of Burke may help this but once out of FFP I believe he will bring in more threatening fire power to lift us to that next level.

I think more and more fans are coming to this conclusion too and hopefully the "Fawaz" type fans that want us running before we can walk will adapt their train of thought too.

You can tell there's plenty of character in this team as when we go behind, we still are never out the game.

All potential captains. 2/3 years ago we would crumble in games, last season too.

This is a significant cultural and attitude change for my mind.

As you say, previously going a goal down would see us lose.

Now, we are again becoming adept at rescuing points from losing positions and are becoming hard to beat.

Always rated him from when he was a teenager but must be up there with bad luck with injuries in the last 20 years in English football and especially so young. Touch wood he keeps his luck when with us which is quite ironic.

He always has had more ability than his brother who has carved out a decent Prem career. Got to hope Gary can do that with us.

My f***ing god, Natalie Jackson is SO BAD at presenting/interviewing. It really amazes me how she's still employed, her interview style/technique and manner are just terrible, as well as the fact her voice is really annoying.
Had to stop watching the interview with Gardner.

Stick it in her shitter and as she's groaning ask "So, Natalie, how does it feeeeel?"

Hard to imagine I know, but I believe she's also the sports editor on EMT.
