Freedman's First Team Prediction Game

Jack Burkitt
It'll definitely be 4231.

De Vries

Kane
Wilson
Hobbs
Fox

Tesche

Antonio

DDV

Wilson
Mancienne
Hobbs

Kane
Vaughan
Lansbury
Osborn

Antiono

Fryatt
Britt

It's a 5-3-2 in defence then a 3-4-1-2 in attack wirh Mancienne playing just ahead of Hobbs and Wilson. Mancienne as a libero, Kane and Osborn as wing backs, Vaughan as a regista, Antonio as a trequartista and Britt as a raumdeuter. I knew all these hours of FM would come in handy, we can jargon the opponents into submission.

I would love a simple 4-2-3-1, which I think when used correctly is the best formation.

DDV
Kane - Hobbs - Wilson - Fox
Vaughan/Tesche - Osborn
Antonio - Lansbury - Fryatt
Assombalonga

Fryatt getting in the box whenever he gets the chance. I think that's our best way to play, start from defence and get it to the two defensive mids on the floor. All three behind Assombalonga making runs past him - otherwise we just end up with a rigid 4-5-1 which is often what happened under Pearce. The formation is useless without midfield runners

Its hard to believe that people still rate Vaughan

He's one of the best passing midfielders in the league. A player doesn't become bad overnight, it's also hard to pass the ball properly when nobody around you moves which has been one of our many downfalls over previous months.

He's played five or six games, so if you don't rate him gudged on a few performances then you are very fickle.

I think Vaughn Is a good distributor from the DM position. The problem is he is injury prone & of the 5 games he has played, he was terrible v Sheff Wed. Surely better to look elsewhere to achieve consistency of performance from a player less likely to be out for long periods of time.

He was also abysmal at Rochdale. Everytime he got the ball he seemed to side foot it to a Rochdale player. Best passer of a ball in this league is just laughable. He isnt even one of the best passers at NFFC

I still rate Vaughan. A few poor performances haven't changed that. He's a player who shines in a passing team. Hopefully we'll see him shine under Dougie.
