Forest v Grimsby Footage request- August 1999

Grimsby fan here. Great to see you guys back in the top flight after so many years, too many of the same clubs just going up and down with the parachute payments. Hope it goes well.

Good draw for us, just got to tell the youngsters how we used to play you guys quite regularly back in the 90's and 00's. Have to keep educating them we've been badly run for 20 years and have still spent more seasons in the second tier than any other division. We shouldn't just be a lower end League Two club. Hopefully turned the corner now though. Think the Championship might be a stretch with the way the game has changed, but we should be able to sustain League One.

I'm looking for video footage of a game at the City Ground which Forest won 2-1 on 14th August 1999 and hoped somebody on here might have it. Were you producing season highlights videos/DVDs back then? I've got a copy from our club highlights but it's dubbed with some crap music.

Hoping someone may be able to help.

Good luck for the season.

I had a look online - seems to be one of the only games missing from the collection of Forest/Grimsby ties I can see. Good luck for the season (y)

No video, but I remember the game and more importantly walking over Trent bridge with a bunch of Grimsby fans waving a giant blow up cod.
I also remember it being a very nasty affair, there was trouble at that game and alot of Coppers around chasing Grimsby fans in particular...

We were out of the league for 6 years and been shit for nearly 20. Hopefully both clubs heading in the right direction now.
Always had a good craic with the GTFC lads back in the day when I went away for Pi55 up weekends in Cleethorpes. Good lads they were.

That was during the David Pratt tenure? The majestic Carlton Palmer got the winner near the end I think? All video evidence probably erased for crimes against football hence lack of availability.
