Forest through the eyes of Champ Man / Football Manager

I know it just a game... but... had a go on Football Manager 2016 recently, Forest are massively hampered by injuries. Massively.

I think some people are misplacing their annoyance at our injury blight, blaming Dougie for using it as an excuse, when it's a very real issue.

Not to mention we're in a bloody transfer embargo.

I had to quit my Forest save after 2 and a bit seasons because it was far to easy. Fawaz was pumping so much money into the club that it wasn't a challenge. If only...

Edit: Just checked Forest on the save I'm currently playing in 2019; Dougie was sacked Jan 2016, Aitor Karanka took over and lasted until Oct 2016, then came Neil McFarlane who lasted an impressive 2 years sacked in Nov 2018, Kelvin Wilson took over as player/caretaker for 14 days before Joey Barton took over in December 2018.
Hobbs, Wilson, Lansbury Osborn, Paterson, Assombalonga and Evtimov are the only ones left from the current squad.

It isn't real you know.

You should tell Sky Sports that. On transfer deadline day when they are in a frenzy, they were discussing every players Football Manager stats.

The stats are good in the game I assume, but when a supposedly real news programme is telling you that a player has a 19 for heading - it's gone too far.

It's a f***ing head shaker.

That group of players is better than 15th and I don't give a f*** what any computer game or simulated manager tells me.

The back 5 would grace any team in the championship, with Wilson and Mancienne to spare.
The midfield is made up of players who have played at the top level plus tge likes of Benny who is one of the more promising young players in the division.
We are light up front at the moment, granted but the manager's job is to come up with an alternative game plan to suit.
Dougie talks a good game.

He does. Now if only he had a similar ability to get a team to play a good game...other than the opposition.

It's the state of the art. Football is a data driven industry these days, like most. E.g.

http://www.transfermarkt.com and https://www.whoscored.com

http://prozonesports.stats.com and http://www.dartfish.com

and Football Manager, as far as I know, has the best database of players in the world.

Not advocating away from traditional intelligence / nous, but stats are being used more and more, from football to movie making.

As for Dougie, I'm surprised so many calling for his head. Given the injury crisis and transfer embargo. Those are not normal constraints.

It's not like we've been shipping in goals, playing badly, or without effort.

f*** the stats look at our lineup

Ddv - great Championship keeper, if he didn't make the odd mistake people bollock him for he wouldn't be playing in this league.
Lichaj - constant international right back.
Mills - solid as a rock, wouldn't look out of place playing in a lower prem team.
Manc - cool as a cucumber.
Cohen - would be in the prem if he wasn't the loyal pro he is
Mendes - pacey and explosive winger established international for a higher ranking team
Gardner - second fiddle to Vaughan for me, but great rotation between them.
Tesche - not many give him credit due to his reported wage.
Osborn - fantastic young talent that we'd do well to keep hold of.
O'Grady- steady Championship player.
Oliviera - will be linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, up in the mix with the other top scorers in the league.

It's absolutely criminal that squad have spent most of the season in the wrong half.

Stats on FM have always been a bit of a joke to me and should be taken with a pinch of salt. I remember Nathan Tyson would get 15 or for pace despite clearly being one of the fastest players around, Wes Morgan would get a 15 for heading when he could only head it 5 yards to the nearest opponent and Simon Cox actually scored goals.
