I wondered if this step 1 was a mistake. I already had a myforest login too from a couple of years ago and it is not clear if I need to create a brand new account on myforest.nottinghamforest.co.uk. Or the instructions have the wrong url.
The instructions have the wrong URL.

You need to go to the main Forest website - www.nottinghamforest.co.uk - and log in there. Don’t use the „myforest“ URL, that’s the old one.

Another fuckup that should have been caught in testing - had they actually done any testing, which clearly they have not.

Thank you. I have got in. Easy when you have the right URL.

There is at least comedy value in the instructions. "...ten easy steps..." and step 1 has the wrong URL.

Again, if it wasn't so laughably poor it'd be funny.

Glad you got in eventually

What a big bag of bollocks.

Presumably the club also employs a comedian given that they “launch” this shitshow along with announcements about “fan engagement”.

And what’s the point anyway: who benefits, and how? Certainly not this “fan” as far as I can tell.

I didn't even see the instruction link further down. I just clicked on the forest one further up in the email and all went smoothly,no complaints from my side.

Although they definitely don't proof read or test anything I.T before releasing it,that's for sure judging by other comments in here.

Predictably shambolic. I was thrashing around my account trying to sign in yesterday lunchtime just like others on here.
A sensible organisation would go through 1) test 2) announce 3) deploy
I think Forest did step 3 and then step 2.
So avoidable.

I'm trying to set mine up now. At the stage of waiting for an activation email to come through. Been waiting 30 minutes. Have requested it several times. Nothing.

Going well so far

This is just the next front in the club's relentless plan to stop me ever getting sent a digital match programme.
I understand that the contrat to provide digital programmes has been awarded to Pineapple Books...

(an old, running LTLF gag for any recent newcomers, there!)

I had issues getting my email activated, it eventually worked after approximately 1 million attempts

They're doing the testing now, when it's live, remember.

At the risk of stating the f***ing obvious:

If you’re waiting for an activation email, check your „Spam“ folder; these mails come from a different address in a different domain (and it’s a new one…)

login@nottinghamforestservice.maileon.de

So your mail provider - if it has never seen this sender or domain before - might consider it unsolicited and „spam“ it.

Failing that - say a silent prayer to the Internet gods, go outside and perform the 'please make it even to the spam folder dance' and then sacrifice two virgins whilst reciting the 'chant of the forbidden e-mail'.
Worked for me anyway.

There might be something in this!

I suspect it's likely that maileon.de is not Nottingham Forest.

What are maileon.de's data protection/gdpr policies and have we consented to our email addresses being shipped to a 3rd party?

Probably some small print somewhere along the usual line of :-

By clicking register you have agreed to let us do whatever the f*** we want with your data, whenever we want to, change the Terms and Conditions of what you've agreed to any time we like without informing you, sell your data and your property to third parties without further consent and ship your soul, gift-wrapped to B.L.Zeebub and co. If you don't consent to this, don't register, we couldn't really give a Klopp either way, but you won't be able to buy tickets, merch or anything really. Lolz.

Maileon is a company I know well, they’re a German online marketing business.

My assumption here is Forest have done a deal with them related to using them for such marketing activities, using their platform (which is hosted primarily in Microsoft Azure IIRC).

As they are a German company, the GDPR should apply here.

I think it's all working rather well. I haven't purchased a ticket or bought any kit for years, but did buy one hospitality match last season, which required no log in etc, and I got an email to tell me to sort out my Forest account.

Oh and edit, it was in my spam folder, but from Nottingham Forest.
