Football league highlights on channel 5

Been a while since I've been on ltlf so I don't know if anyone's posted this...

Apparently channel 5 have won the right to show fl highlights. It seems the appeal of the show being on BEFORE motd is what swung it for them.

Now I don't know about other married folk, but we have a sort of unspoken deal that the TV is mine from 10.20 onwards! There's no chance I'm going to get the remote at 8:00.

In all seriousness though, I don't know how happy I am about it. I like the bbc coverage, it's very unbiased and does special features on all clubs. If channel 5 wants to top that (with adverts) it's going to be a much longer show.

Still though as far as they're concerned, the faster bbc can shed any sports the better.

Hmm I don't know.

It won't be better on Channel 5 that's for sure. Rubbish slot, for the reasons above, too.

I don't care about the earlier slot for the same reason I don't care about the graveyard slot it is on now; I record it and watch it on sunday morning anyway.

I don't expect a longer show, I expect the same length but with ad breaks, so effectively you will lose about a quarter to a third of it. Could be wrong on that though.

Prepared to see how it is, can't be worse than anything ITV would knock up.
