He certainly was 'mercurial'.

Friday partook in excessive smoking, drinking, womanising and drug-taking, and his habit of unsettling opponents through physical intimidation contributed to an on-field disciplinary record that journalist Willie Gannon described as "appalling", but his overall performances were consistently excellent, and in March 1976 he scored a spectacular volley against Tranmere Rovers which international referee Clive Thomas called "even up against the likes of Pelé and Cruyff ... the best goal I’ve ever seen".

Another playing incident occured early on in the 1977–78 season, during a match against Brighton & Hove Albion on 31 October 1977. Friday was being marked by Mark Lawrenson, and became so frustrated by the close attention the defender was giving him that he waited for him to attempt a slide tackle and then kicked his opponent in the face. After receiving a red card, he broke into the Brighton dressing room and defecated in Lawrenson's kit bag before leaving the stadium.[7] The match against Brighton was his last match for Cardiff; claiming that he had had enough of people telling him what to do,[16] he left the club and retired from professional football at the age of 25

this traumatic expeirence may have caused lasting mental damage that resulted in him refusing to shave off that moustache even when no one else in the united kingdom had one lol.

I love the story of him at Hayes...

Friday was known at Hayes for his excessive drinking, and on one occasion the team started a match a player short because Friday had not turned up. When he finally arrived, eighty minutes after kick-off, his intoxication was obvious. Nevertheless, he was sent onto the pitch with the match still goalless. With the opposition paying him little attention, Friday scored a late winner for Hayes

Only played 10 minutes and still won the match lol

I thought the book was mostly bobbins in terms of written style, but the stories themselves redeem it.

I've heard McGovern on the radio. He should be marketed as a cure for insomnia.

Probably would have to say Camp with me being of the younger generation. He's been fantastic for us since he joined from QPR and even though some people are questioning his form at the moment, I think he's the best keeper we've had in a while

Has to be Ian Storey Moore. The mere fact that he was presented at the Baseball Ground as a new signing, only for him to never sign on the dotted line & sign for Man Utd the next day is pure class and makes him a total Forest legend.

Also, his scoring record was also very good !!

I couldn't finish it, too dull.

You can tell any story you like but if it's written poorly then it can drag.
