That is good news - but agreed, they should get rid of scrotum-face.

Unfortunately ITV have retained coverage of England internationals from 2014-18.

Shearer looks like he fears the chop every time he's on to me. Particularly when Hansen's on and making fun of what Shearer says whilst looking at Lineker the whole time. To appear like he's laughing along Shearer seemd to do that thing where he wobbles his head, looks down, and smiles almost too broadly like little ones do when they're posing for a photo. But he looks uncomfortable and you can tell Hansen's hurt him.

Has he singed yet?
The old boys club on the BBC is tiring. Same old faces and same basic punditry. Gary Neville has shown what you can do if you actually give a shit.

Where's me hammer?
Itvs coverage of sport particular football is terrible. Southgate, chiles and dixon shitting themselves not trying to upset keane and making out hes rock solid. Then theres andy "you know clive, im not sure if i played againest brazil or not" townsend bellending it up.

Thats before the tactics truck gets a mention.

No wonder my post count..
Good, that means less Matt Smith.

Mind you, it also means more Lawrenson.

As I don't watch Sky's PL coverage, I'm also still stuck at the stage the world was at a year or two ago....I can't imagine tv gets much worse than when it's got Gary Neville's touch screen tactical analysis on it.

Gary Neville is amazing. I thought he'd be terrible but I can only praise him in the strongest possible terms. He's embarrassed a few of the establishment who think it's ok to just describe the goals.

Any contract which means there is less football on ITV is a good one as far as I'm concerned. I still can't believe they cut away from Jose just as he seemed to be about to give them the line on wanting to come back to Chelsea - it was like they had no idea what a story was.

Happy with this although the pundits need a shake up.

Shearer isn't that bad but the rest are boring ans tiresome.

Annoyed me when the confeds cup was on and they had absolutely no idea about Brazil, particularly with their Brazilian based players.

I just want someone who knows what they are on about

It's fun waiting to see if Keane will snap though :)

BBC is equally bad, neither really puts any thought or effort in, they just rest on their laurels knowing every 2years they get to cover a World Cup or euros.

I'm sure Keane criticised all pundits in his autobiography and said he'd couldn't think of anything worse than being one. Bad times for Keano.

Agreed, if other pundits are MORE boring than Shee-rah then, well, just... wow!

SKY - I could listen to Gary Neville talk about football all day, he knows what he's talking about. When Sky announced the signing of Neville I thought it would make for horrible viewing but I'd say he has the best view of the game on the whole panel, just watch some of his analysis' on YouTube, they're fantastic. I really do miss Andy Gray as a commentator, his enthusiasm is something that has been unable to be replaced (unless we go back to Gary Neville and remember his 'orgasm' at Torres & Drogba's goals in the Chelsea CL winning semi and finals.

ITV - Where to begin? Awful, awful coverage! Adrian Chiles is such an irritating person, he speaks about football as if we're unfamiliar with it or as if we're 5 years old, very patronising. His half time coverage is dreadful, asking the most painfully obvious answers to the painfully dull team of Roy Keane, Gareth Southgate and Lee Dixon. Then we have Andy Townsend on commentary who likes to state the obvious all the time and again, like Chiles, talk about football as if the viewers have never heard of it before.
One thing I hate about ITV with him being my favourite player is how they talk about Fernando Torres. They talk about him as if he's some sort of mentally handicapped player who is just learning how to play football, it pisses me off. Any mistake he makes it's down to him "not being the player he once was", no you twats, the defender just made a good tackle on him!

BBC - I can honestly say the whole coverage is a refreshment to the awfulness of ITV so it kind of makes Lawro bearable because I just think of who we COULD be suffering through on ITV and thank my lucky stars.

Delighted with this news. It means less Roy Keane on the tellybox. Less Roy Keane everywhere would be preferable, but this is a good step in the right direction. Also, I shall be glad to be seeing less of Adrian Chiles - who is an annoying twat.
