Darlow was here for 5/6 years before being made no.1 I think comparison.
Someone must see something in him, probably looking to loan him like Darlow.
Karl Darlow was indeed here from when he was around 16.
Even when he went on loan to Newport (Newport!) there were those writing him off.
Goalkeepers tend to mature later than many other positions.

Just been checking to see how Dimi is getting on out in Portugal.
Not well, it seems - Olhanense are rock bottom of the second division, having won just once in 14 games, ten points off safety and having conceded 29 goals.
At least he's getting worked though right? Urrrr, well no. He's lost his place in the team to an Italian guy (former Italy U18 keeper) and has only played 4 games all season.
We need to get him back in January and get him 20-odd games somewhere else before the end of the season or I fear he is in danger of never getting the experience he needs to challenge for a place in the team here.
With every year that passes, the likes of Erlandsson and Smith are surely closing the gap on him?
I reckon there could be a spot up for grabs come the summer - Stojkovic's form has been a bit up and down. Would be nice to see Evtimov take it.

I was thinking yesterday about our keepers. We've got 3 seemingly talented young lads yet gone and signed 2 'experienced' pros who have gone and made a shit load of mistakes. Evtimov isn't a youth player any more is he? He shouldn't be being loaned out, he should be used or moved on.

Will be 24 a month into next season. With de Vries here, I totally agree with getting him out on loan to play this season instead of sitting on the bench. It also allowed Jordan Smith to get u23 games. But if he's not playing and we're paying Henderson no doubt a handsome wage to warm the bench, it is kind of pointless all round.
But you're right - if he's not going to challenge next year (or maybe even January if we recall him) then it's looking bleak for him here, especially with the younger talent coming through. His contract ends in 2019 but you feel next summer is probably decision time either way for him.

Before Darlow got the nod he was believed to be in need of "experience in something like League 1".
Darlow was put into the number 1 slot and hasn't looked back.
I only saw Henderson twice, and both times he looked very poor.
I have only seen Stojkovich 3 times and each time he has made poor decisions, mistakes and cost us goals.
I think Evtimov should be brought back and given a run in our first team.
I think Stojkovich needs some time out on loan so he can get used to catching the ball... Get rid of him, along with every other player who we brought in during the summer and we'd be a better team..

I have not seen anything from Evtimov that would suggest he will ever become a decent championship goalkeeper. At 24 he should be doing a whole lot more. I would sooner us concentrate on Erlandson.

But what I will say is, Forest academy have never produced as many young keepers 'with a real chance of making first team' than they are currently producing.
Even if Evtimov doesn't make it, it was worth trying to give him time to do so but next in line comes Smith, Erlandsson, Wright, Shelvey + some other younger schoolboys no point mentioning their name yet.
Got to feel at least one will grab their chance down the line.

Progress looks to have been slow, but cant imagine being dug out by the manager for a mistake in your first game does anything for your confidence.
