Sickening to hear the racial abuse Rashford, Saka and Sancho received from so-called fans after missing their penalty kicks.

People who abuse like that are not wired up right, because it never even went through my head what colour the players were when they missed their kicks, only that they were wearing an England shirt and were England players.

I wish the scumbags who tell others to go back where they came from would actually leave England themselves, because we don't want their racist shite here.

We did play well for about 15 minutes - I remarked to the good lady that I couldn't remember an England side that had looked as comfortable on the ball and dominant, we were passing well and had direction AND THEN ..... you could see Harry Maguire suddenly shift in to "preserve the lead" mode going backwards rather than go the wings or push up and that was it we lost it right there.

Now whether that was Southgate's idea on the night or a default tactic or just a sense of fear that overtook the team who can say but it was the thing that allowed Italy back in and you just don't allow a team that likes to run with the ball and play quick passing football to come at you for 70 minutes.

We were doomed from then on. I felt so sorry for Declan Rice, he was a revelation, rode tackles, continually went past Italian players and then got stranded with no support. Sterling tried a few things late on but it was back to the old England of a bunch of individuals. Grealish was on a completely different wavelength to the rest of the team when he was belatedly brought on, a bit of guile and invention and absolutely no-one helped him.

Shocking tactics, I know he's supposed to be St Gareth and all that and he's done some good stuff behind the scenes but he's not a matchday manager.

Chickens came hime to roost. Play not to lose and you often don't win.
I don't buy into Southgate the great manager. Would also love to know what Grealish has done to upset him. Even accepting Mount is picked on front of him from half an hour in it was obvious we needed someone to get on the ball and hold it. Pathetic management.

I've already seen one report by a Sun news reporter claiming that alot of it was bots from abroad. Well maybe a few were but making excuses for the idiots doesn't solve the problem.
Apparently lots of people who had tickets could not get in their seats because they were occupied by those that had broke in. One fella with his son said he asked 7 members of staff to do something and was told they didn't have enough people to deal with it.
People like that will stop going to football games if they don't do something and the Muppets will win again.

Social media will pick you up on the 'C' word as being offensive, but it won't pick you up on the 'N' word as being offensive.

Unless social media start banning certain racist words from being posted, this will continue to happen.

We don't want this new generation witnessing all this online hate, it's not fair on them. These England lads look like such a lovely bunch of lads, and it tears me up to see them getting that abuse on top of already being heartbroken after missing a penalty.

It's just shameful and really upsetting.

Would it not be better for these people to be outed and dealt with rather than have their posts filtered?

Mrs just told me some bloke in Manchester got found out as a racist post came from his work account. Of course he claimed he’d been hacked. Bullshit.

There's no doubt in my mind that a lot of the racial abuse was blown out of proportion by hate-breeders, bots, and those trying to manipulate the situation to their own agenda/gain.

Half the twats couldn't even get his f***ing name right!..........

Now are they real football supporters who know these players, the game and really give a shit?

Or just a bunch of ****s using the race card to breed hatred and fuel their agenda?

Seeing as they don't even know the kids real name, my money is on the latter.

There are plenty of Forest fans on here who don't know what the Forest manager's surname is. Not sure what it proves.

Really?

To me the above's a prime example of folk who won't have even watched the game just taking an agenda and using it to stir up shit.

But 'll leave it with you if you think that's all genuine supporters and not people with agendas

Rice was unbelievable! world class performance!

With Irish ancestry.

Not to mention Kane, Grealish, and Maguire.

If the abusers wanted to go all out, they'd attack them too.

But it's all about being black and white unfortunately.
When I was at school, a long time ago we had one black lad, William Richardson and one Indian lad, Ranjeet Soar. The kids nowadays go to schools that are completely mixed. I don't understand it.

we are living in a strange, angry and idiotic world. racism, conspiracy theories, nationalism etc are exploding all over the world.

last night i felt sorry for especially Saka. I mean he is at the age of my son. This kid had to face this moment and relive it from now on and on and on.

people lost their compassion. how can you target Saka, Sancho and even Rashford. Rashford for Christ's sake is a real jewel for English sports. His work beyond football and his initiatives are truly important.

all these social media are taking a wrong turn

Think it was a streaker who invaded the pitch yesterday. Camera focused in on players' faces to avoid showing it. English players looked very serious. Italians were laughing. Probably quite a telling moment about respective state of minds at that point.

It wasn’t - just an idiot looking for his few seconds of fame.
Though the pitiful efforts at ‘bringing him down’ were mildly amusing.

Team of the tournament:

Donnasumma, Walker, Bonucci, Maguire, Spinazzola, Jorginho, Hojbjerg, Pedri, Chiesa, Lukaku, Sterling.

Two holding midfield players #gazout

Great team, but I'd have had Chiellini instead of Bonucci. He's displayed cleverness, guile and and an absolute 100% winners attitude throughout.

To think some folk were writing him off as "old and done for" after picking up a knock early in the tourny.

Now I'm over the disappointment of England losing, it's damn nice to revel in all the brilliance Italy bought to the tournament. A proper team of winners. Really helped me fall back in love with football again (as has the tournament in general)

I might have had Dumfries in it. Though the Dutch did go out in the 2nd round and it's a side made up from the semi-finalists, which is probably fair.

Pickford's very unlucky. Couple of nervy moments in the semi final, but thought overall he was brilliant. Had England won the shootout, I think he'd be in instead. So that's probably fair too. Close call and the winner goes in.

Noises coming from UEFA that they’re going to throw the book at us for the fan behaviour during the final.
Wouldn’t it be ironic that, finally having a team that might actually win something, we end up booted out of the next World Cup because our fans are twats?
