Yes, I recall that. Leeds tried to do a deal with him because they can't afford it as they were close to insolvent.

But I belive that was unpaid wages and bonuses etc.

But I could be wrong.

It still happens now, a selling club will pay a percentage of wages for the duration of the original contract if the player refuses to drop his wage demands when leaving.

It’s a way of getting rid of a player who’s a greedy bastard.

For example if Shelvey earns 75K a week and Sheff U will only pay 50, his agent may approach Forest asking us to pay 25K until his original contract with us expires to get rid of him.

Never ever buy from Gasperini, its been said by other Italian teams for the past 5 years but last summer we got a taste of why they say "we got gasperini'd". He makes decent/good players look like the cream of the crop in the system he plays, then only sells when he has rinsed them.

Bit like Cloughie. How many players did he flog to United who did f*** all? Birtles, Webb, davenport.
