Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

What happened? Did derby manage to struggle past a 4th tier side tonight or did Nottinghamshires 3rd club do them?

For a minute there I thought I read Keogh was going back to derby... I missed the word 'rivals' - he's off to Ipswich. Would have been quite the return!

Seen a few Derby fans accuse us of being "obsessed" over this. Which is hilarious, given that they spent most of the match signing about Forest (something which a lot of Stags fans sat around me took the piss out of).

Not a full strength Derby side, but I thought they were poor last night and Mansfield were very unlucky not to have at least taken it to penalties. They spent from half time up until Mansfield's equaliser time wasting, which is pretty desperate against a League Two side really.

Good effort from Mansfield, who have bounced back from an opening day horror show with a couple of good performances and will likely push for promotion again IMO.

It wasn't a full strength Stags side either.

I thought Mansfield looked twice as fit as they did and were much better in the second half until they brought Mendez Liang on. The Mansfield backline wasn't very good - they were playing a striker at CB second half & a defender up top in the second half! :ROFLMAO:

True, a few players rested by Stags as well as a first start for new signing Anthony Hartigan.

Neither defence looked very convincing really. Though moving Hawkins further forward caused Derby problems, think they should have left him on rather than sub him personally.

Still, plenty of positives Mansfield could take from last night. Same can't be said for Derby.

Yeah I dunno why they took Hawkins off, Derby couldn't deal with him when he went upfront.

Another example of them struggling against physical sides which they will see a lot of this year.

They had a derby podcaster on 5live last night.

He was convinced they were top two material.

Ryan Lowe was also a guest, he was quite insightful about EFL football business actually. But he was also saying that Derby are paying top wages by the league standard and the likes of McGoldrick will be on the max. Was saying that 16 teams who will see Derby as a Cup Final so it will be a long hard slog for older gentlemen players.
