Do you think today was a gutsy performance?

I think the players tried their best, but, sadly it was not good enough. The performance was woeful.

You play football. Do your teams always win? Do you always try to win?

I don't question their willingness to try. Bottle isn't about will, it's about buckling.

Apologies, it was a pretty petulant comment that I meant to be light hearted.

Please don't think I think forest should always win, or for that matter that winning is that important in the grand scheme of things; I think there are important factors that can justify us spending £30 to watch these guys play, and not all of those factors have been met entirely in the last month or so.

I have played with Rich, I can honestly say if you played against an over 80's side and conceded one goal, he is going to rip one off you!

I don't see a lot of love for Forest in the stands these days.

More love and resentment.

I do see a lot of bottling in the stands, with some of our fans throwing in the towel around mid November.

Ha! I'd have been livid with the goals today!

Interesting point.

I always wonder if the fans' feeling is reflective of on pitch actions or influential. If, indeed, they're mutually exclusive.

I do think the " bottling " as you called it is a disease we have suffered LNG before billy, and could come partly from the fans or at least maybe influenced by it.

We have witnessed it time and again with different playing staff and we kind of expect it to happen and know the signs, when we see them the crowd and ground get edgy and this possibly influences the players in a similar vein

We have had different managers, players ect yet the problem is still there the only constant is the fans

I think there is confusion between bottling and choking in this thread.

But apart from that, I agree with the sentiments expressed insofar as we all love NFFC, but sometimes that love is a bit tested.

Keep up the good work all you who bother to write about Forest in whatever context.

I'm gradually coming up for air after shouting, complaining, using up all the excuses and generally drowning in frustration during the three hour drive home yesterday.

Good read, agree with a lot of it. Especially this:

I don’t particularly dislike Danny Collins. He’s an adequate defender who does a decent enough job. However, he doesn’t inspire those around him, and I just see that he and Lascelles don’t work together. Lascelles, and indeed Darlow, look like world beaters when Hobbs is in the side. Perhaps they respect him, perhaps they’ve just got a better understanding, but when Collins comes in for Hobbs, misunderstanding reigns supreme. I have little confidence in our ability not to ship goals when we play with Collins at the back, and the sooner Hobbs returns the better.

Don't think I could have summed up my own feelings regarding Danny Collins any better myself. Brilliantly put.
