If we could get him cheap, I’d have him straight away at Forest. Unfortunately this is Daniel Levy, so Spence is doomed to stay in the footballing wilderness for the next few years.

He made his bed, let him lie in it.
Exactly, if it wasn't Spence nobody would even be discussing a right back. We have 3 on our books that can currently play there and he isn't guarenteed to be better than any of them because he's played about 10 minutes in the Premier League.

Whatever perspective you look at this it's an absolutely pointless transfer.

He was pretty crap in Ligue 1 last season by the way. It's quality over quantity but only when its suits?

Whilst I get the desire for him to come home, Aina looks to have very similar attributes & might even be a step up.

So on that basis alone- I don't see the point.
Afternoon Bob.
Sobriety and sensible posts back in faqshion in the fossil household.
Sadly, I missed all the sparky stuff from last night :)
Seriously, good to see you doing the right thing.

Afternoon Cap'n.

It was Saturday night. I think 😂
Possibly... me and the mrs were at the Regal in Melton watching "Indianna Jones and the Failure of CGI" until mid-evening, and then we were pigging out on Chinky takeaway, listening to Snowy white on the old gramophone, whilst drinking too much rather pleasant Merlot.

Does not matter, as a wingback he is better than all of them.
Hard to say if he's better than our current options. He's completely untested in the Premier League. Aina looks more than capable of being our first choice right wing back IMO.

And when we are working within FFP limits and the 25 man squad rule it absolutely does matter. We can't afford to stockpile players in positions where we already have a number of options on the payroll, we have to prioritise signing players in positions that actually need strengthening.

Bang on. If he hadn't played for us before, absolutely no one on here would be advocating signing him (or any right back/right wing back for that matter). Any clamour for bringing him back now is based purely on sentiment rather than any real logic.

I get the feeling that he's going to be the new Oliver Burke though. People are going to be advocating bringing him back every window even when it makes absolutely zero sense to do so.

Aina, Neco & Serge can all play RB.

Bosa (????), Aina & Neco can all play LB.

So on that basis alone- I don't see the point.
See I say all of this rational stuff & stand by it.

And then I watch this and I get the chills. He was absolutely majestic for us wasn't he.

How do you know he wasn't offered the money, but turned it down as he always wanted to go back to play in France?
I don't know if that scenario is true... but it might be possible.
Your right I don't but the rumours of him being fuming and disrespected didn't come from nowhere I believe mitaldis wanted a big name as number 1 and samba quite rightly got the hump and left.
If it was always his intention then fair enough no forest fan would begrudge him that after that season
