A guy who couldn't progress an established league one club above the relegation zone gets a job for a club new boys in a higher division.

I always find it bizarre where failed managers leave a club and somehow get a better job.

Appleton gets mentioned for all Championship jobs but he still has no record anywhere as a manager.

As does 'scouse chops' Robinson at MK Dons. Never done owt with them other than mediocrity but seems to be linked with every Championship job going.

He is very highly rated as a coach. Obviously doesn't always mean anything when trying to be a manager.

Aye, like Brian Kidd and Paul Hart for example.

Very highly rated coaches at one time - but didnt really succeed to any great degree at management level.
