Dexter Blackstock leaves - thank you Dexter!

Re: Dex gone

Massive cost-cutting exercise going on at Forest; makes people question whether the investment has gone completely now and we've had to take these measures (including the lack of re-investment following the Burke sale) with a view to getting into next summer with the potential for investment from other parties.

Absolutely insane.

Re: Dex gone

Thanks for the memories.

I don't want to just call him a good, honest pro as it sounds a bit generic and meaningless.

Scored important goals, knew how to hold the ball up and win free kicks. I thought he was quite clever at that and any long ball I'd give him a 80/20 chance with.

Best of luck to him in the future. I appreciate all the effort, it was clear to see.

Thank you, Dexter Anthony Titus Blackstock

It's been a pleasure having you at our club, you've left memories with our fans that will last a lifetime and have been a bloody good servant to Forest and always gave it your best.

I wish you well with whatever your future has in store.

Thanks

Re: Dex gone

Or maybe he just isn't part of PP and PM's plans?

Either way thanks for the memories Dex, wish you all the best.

Re: Dex gone

I wouldn't call cutting a high wage earner who is not going to play this season insane.

Gone to Rotherham apparently with the rest of Forest rejects.

Re: Dex gone

Really good servant for us, but the club's moved in a different direction now.

What with Fryatt still injured, make that just three available strikers now, Britt, Vellios and Dumitru? or perhaps Lica can also play up there.

Still a bit light but make do til Jan. What's happening with the other forgotten man Hobbs by the way?

Errr, I'd say it's pretty much exactly what's going on.
It's Fawaz or bust (probably both!!).
Gonna be an interesting few months ahead.

Maybe. Either way, I'm sure you'll agree we look light up top now? Even more than we were before this.

Think we are taking huge risks leaving the squad incredibly thin.

Sad to see Dexter go, he has given me some great memories.

Re: Dex gone

This leaves just Chris Cohen left that was part of the 09/10 squad

In isolation the decision to mutually terminate Dex's contract is a good decision, if we had 3-4 capable strikers in the place and stead of Dex. Sadly, as you and I both know, we don't.

We've essentially got Assombalonga, Vellios who appears to be struggling, and an unknown quantity from Napoli whose record is poor and was utilised primarily as a winger.

Add that to the fact we sold or loaned out Ward and Lars, and it's insane mate.

Good luck Dexter Blackstock.

And for that goal against Bristol you will always be remembered fondly in my minds eye.

Scored some crucial goals and always conducted himself professionally and with respect for both the fans and the club.

Not a bad word to say about him, and he'll always be remembered fondly.

Re: Dex gone

Just a personal opinion, but I prefer Lansbury deeper. I think if he's on his game, he is fantastic in that role.

back to Dex. Cheers for some important goals and hard work, likeable player.

The trickler against Newcastle often pops up when I talk football with my Geordie mate.

Good luck Dex!

Re: Dex gone

His time has been and gone, been a decent player for us but it would be daft to have him hanging around on big money.

Always had a lot of time for Dex. May not be the most technically gifted but gave his all and put himself about as well as scoring some vital goals, especially that goal against Bristol City.

Seems like a good bloke too. All the best Dexter

Re: Dex gone

You would hope so; I think Lansbury is going to be a massive player for us if he's played correctly.

Agreed.

Montanier is clever enough. He'll have identified how much better Lansbury is going forward than backwards, giving away cheap fouls and picking up regular yellow cards.
