It's a running theme not a one off though, look back and count how many times he gets done from low shots from range, it's .
I understand what you're saying but I'm not sure it's entirely his fault. Look at our long shots then compare them to opposition's. We give them space and time on the edge of the area, and generally more of them, which equals better shots and more likely to concede.

Our Defenders back off and back off and back off, giving opponents all f***ing day to have a shot.

Darlow looked like he was going to cry at some times today. Meanwhile Lascelles was doing his best to get a red card. Defenders eh, what are they like?

The one where he set up a 3 man wall leaving their well known set piece playmaker an easy target to aim for?

The one where he dived out of the way, where he was nowhere near a shot across him from a tight angle or the one where he palmed a shot straight to the striker in front of him? He was awful today, it's becoming a regular occurrence.

I bet Newcastle will want to send him on loan again next season. Hope he doesn't come back here

Sat behind the line of those first 2 goals and it's quite hard to see the ball through the crowd of player's legs.

The third goal was a well struck shot from fairly close range so it's hard to always push them out wide, you've got to keep it out first and foremost. It was unlucky it came off Lichaj straight to their player. I've seen Courtois do the exact same thing for Chelsea this season so that's nothing for me. It happens and Fox yet again backing off and failing to block a cross or shot it the worst thing about that goal.

Yes. The one where he thought one of the 6+ players in front of him might make contact with the ball
The shot came in straight from an angle, with the defenders placed where Darlow told them to go.

He then dived out of the way of the the ball. Not on purpose, but he totally misread a ball that was coming straight at him from 18 yards and was distracted by the players in front of him

It is understandable, but it was his mistake.

The 3rd one he then palmed the ball into the danger area which is why it hit his own player in the back, rather than pushing it away.

These things happen in a split second and are easy to judge in hindsight. But they were ultimately his fault.

He looks like Lee Camp did at the end.

I appreciate your constant attempts to defend Darlow but doesn't it say a lot that it's necessary every other week?

On form, should be in the mix for the England shirt next summer.

(couldn't find a thread in the ex-Players bit, so can someone move this into there)

He has always been a decent shot stopper, but not particularly commanding or good at the other areas of the game, usually had a habit of getting beaten from long range, and like Brice never really seemed to keep a pen out.

Though he was young when he left us and is now a PL keeper at a big club with good coaches so plenty he can improve.

Looks like Darlow could be leaving Newcastle after 9 years... Is it finally time to dust off the paperwork to see if Fawaz agreed a sell on fee!
