No wonder my post count..
Wow, emotional post that.

Are they definitely getting liquidated? That guy seems pretty sure of it.

This is...inevitable.

As I predicted in the past, we have, in this country an unsustainable numbers of professional clubs, compared to the potential audience for those clubs and the large salaries that their professionals command. Too many clubs are now stuck in limbo, with outdated stadiums that they either chose not to renovate (or relocate) and risk losing out of attracting any new fans (effectively dying a slow death) because of their outdate facilities, or chose to fund new stadia and financially scupper themselves.

When you look at countries with much larger populations than our own, they have a vastly smaller number of professional clubs.

Got to feel bad for them. Dont they have that massive stadium that is always empty on matchday? Shudder to think that this could possibly happen to Forest.

Hi Guys - Avid reader of the forum, as you can tell - i dont post often !

Live in Darlo and been a Darlo and Forest fan since 1978, more recently split my time between the 2, however 78 to around 2000 i mainly went to the majority of Darlo home games and a fair few away ones.

Its certainly looking very grim at the moment, most of us are treating tomorrow away at Barrow, where we are rumoured to be taking anything between 1000 - 1500 fans as our last game. I know Forest fans have their moans about the hierarchy, but no-one and i mean no-one comes close to the owners we have had since 1998 ! - Most of you know about the infamous George Reynolds era and the 25000 seater stadium, next followed George Houghton, under his regime we somehow racked up £8m of debt in 3 years and now Raj Singh - who claimed 3 months ago we were debt free - now we owe millions and guess who the main creditor is ?!!

There is a very small chance we may survive, but to be honest they way forward seems like a Phoenix club, a bit like what Telford, Aldershot, Halifax have done.

Part of me even been a huge Darlo fan can understand why not many people would have sympathy for us - we aint learned our lessons - 3 admins in 9 yrs is really some going ! But its really nice to see some of the reaction from fans right across the country on our messageboard.

Anyhow we'll enjoy tomorrow - celebrate 128 years of DFC and who knows what next week may bring.

If we do under, more time for Forest games ! although not the best season is it ? Only managed the West Ham and Boro games at home this season.

Cheers for the thoughts - much appreciated !

Mark.

Always sad to see a club disappear; but Congo is right, there are now too many clubs chasing a pot of money that is nowadays consolidated towards the "top clubs" of the Premier League.

The Premier League probably wish the Football League would do one an die.

Take Germany for example - two divisions of 18 teams (Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2) and below that, four "regional" leagues, many if not all of whose teams are part-time.

That would be a better blueprint for English football, but the problem is it would be Turkeys voting for Christmas getting the clubs to agree to it.

Sad article. Shame about Darlo, always thought they had bitten off more than they could chew though with that huge stadium they had built. Just goes to show how out of touch owners are with the fans. Hopefully it will never happen at Forest, I shudder to think

I think the fans singing

'you are my darlo.. my only darlo'

Would make me rather sad. :( . awful thing to happen to a club. Huge respect for them.

Lets go and ruin it
