Danilo dos Santos de Oliveira

Sauce salad?
He's very good - such a talent. Looks leggy at the minute, but even so putting in a proper shift and looking like a Mercedes while doing so.

Attracting interest from the big boys too if all is to be believed. I can see why - stick him in a side with more possession and better players around him and the odd stray passs will be more than made up fir with what he adds in quality at both ends. Baller!

Danilo's game continues to rise. I think he's still a bit weak positionally, but his overall game is strong---technique, vision, work rate, athleticism---and he's become more well rounded. He is the most important CM for us, imho, and I would not be surprised if he ends up in the Brazil squad, at some point.
Still relatively inexperienced. Like Murillo, learning quickly and a way to go but great talent.

Hope we hold onto both for at least another year.

Fantastic last night. My motm. Away from home too. Probably benefits from having Boly behind him telling him what to do positionally.

Game of two halves for me. First half we were completely overrun and it highlighted his weaknesses in positioning and control.

Second half highlighted a lot of his strengths driving into the space. Like Murillo with Boly or Felipe next to him he could really do with an experienced player next to him

His run and shot in the second half was outstanding, and the sort of thing that we need, especially if we play with 3 at the back more. Giving a driving outlet.

Even in a poor first half performance he comes up with an assist. His energy driving us forward is something the other midfielders rarely provide.

I might be wrong but I think he's the one (starting) midfield consistent in Nuno' Premier League victories at Forest.

As much as I've critiqued Danilo on this, it wasn't just him yesterday as both him and Yates got dragged out of central areas in the first half. Didn't help either MGW was playing much more advanced so couldn't drop back into that vacated space. So for me a tactical misstep rather than specific player at fault.

Clear instruction for central midfield two to remain central and allow Sheff Utd more space out wide in second half, which worked well in limiting chances but also in supporting attack on transition.

Danilo is very young, doesn't speak english with any fluency, and is a long way from home... and is paid a king's ransome every week.
He has amazing technical skills and vision, but he isn't the finished article yet.
