Dan Harding

Like so many others he's had a couple of seasons of mediocre competition for his place in the side, and still hasn't made it his own. This is not the sort of player Pearce sees at the club long term, despite his assertion of competition for places being healthy.

Pleease , Harding was crap for SOD before BD. People praising him now will be pulling out their hairs when a decent/good winger runs at harding and Harding craps his pants and struggles badly.

2 seasons of mediocrity of left back defending should have been more than enough to convince anyone that harding is not good enough.

Fans need someone to demonise and generally something to whinge about

Indeed.

There were some yesterday who slagged Harding off for making the simple pass instead of aiming forwards for Assombalonga or Antonio. He's not the greatest full back we've ever seen in a Forest shirt, but hes doing a decent job at the moment. Whether or not Cohen moves back there once Lansbury/Vaughan or Tesche become available, I am unsure, but, lets stick with him.

If only we had a former no.3 who was one of the best left backs ever for a manager, things would be different then.

Harding is a confidence player. He seems to play better away from home, I think once he starts a few games we will see him really compete for the position.

He plays in the garibaldi red, we should be showing him support especially new season, new start. Plus we haven't lost yet!!

Will he be first in that position when we have everyone fit? I doubt it, but more competition for places can only be healthy.

Halford on the other hand.. Gave up and didn't have the motivation when we conceded. He is the type of player that should be moved on

D'you know who I trust to pick our left back? Stuart Pearce.

When everyone is fit he is probably 3rd or even 4th choice left back, not a bad option to have. Never heard him moaning when he isn't in the side, gives 100% everytime he plays and usually plays pretty well.
I really don't get the abuse.

I tend to think Mr. Pearce knows a thing or two about the position.

Who knows, maybe he's been teaching young Harding a thing or two.

Harding was outstanding yesterday,i am sure the majority on here do not go to the matches.
It will be very interesting if SP leaves him there when everyone is fit,i think he will, made a number of last ditch tackles yesterday mainly to save Fox,s blushes

I hate to be one of those fans,but.... I was there yesterday & moved to sit on my own as someone decided they wanted half my seat as well as their own, anyway I'm getting bored of the Harding bashing & decided to make an extra effort watching him even when he didn't have the ball.
He didn't put a foot wrong, some great running down the wing, a superb game saving tackle & I thought Bolton got that frustrated with him they started to mainly try down the Right side instead, players do have bad runs & maybe Pearce has found something in him that makes him tick. MOM yesterday

I'm old enough to remember supporters slagging off John McGovern, one of our greatest ever players.

Harding might not be in the same class as TheFormerRedsCaptain, and his technique might not be the greatest, but he always tries.

And that's what matters.

I'm trusting Mr. Pearce on this; a fairly decent Left Back himself, he clearly sees enough in Dan Harding in that role to keep him in the side.

I think Harding is better at DEFENDING than fox as fox hardly ever puts a challenge in when he plays left back he just backs of and backs of, not seen him at cb but people where saying he was doing well until his mess up yesterday but fox is better at going forward than Harding.
If all our mids get fit I'd play Cohen there.

Not good enough for Nottingham Forest, only winners here thank you.

He was good enough in Southamptons promotion team.
Give the guy a break bet he's better than you and me put together.
He wouldn't be my first choice Cohen or lee high (can't spell).

He must be sick of the sight of Fox. Wasn't he the one who pushed him out at Southampton?
