I’m sure he’s not a good player based on his feeble displays last time he represented Nottingham Forest.
He is absolute bobbins.

I would sooner exhume Lenin‘s corpse from his mausoleum in Red Square and stick that up front, it would be more effective.
I was trying my hardest to be polite about the bloke but I think you have both summed him up a lot more accurately 😂

So Paul Taylor in the Athletic said this was a Greek signing aka Miltadis.
Well, knock me down with a feather, would you have believed it!

So glad this one failed.
Wonder if they question every other club in this way? I mean, how many other club's owners actually make signings? Shit loads, if the truth be known. How many managers in the Premier League have ultimate control over player signings? Very few. They all have players thrust upon them.
The difference at Forest was that the volume of players was crazy. That's hardly the case in this window.

That's a surprise. It's not like the Greek Boy to purchase a steaming pile of shit at an exorbitant price as part of his vanity collection.

No wonder Akpom wanted to come. If the Greek boy was negotiating the wages on a 6 year contract would have ensured he never needed to do a days training again.

Plus the usual 10% of the transfer-fee as a „signing-on bonus“.

I agree to an extent but in truth our owner is also a bit of a wildcard/headline grabber.

(I'm thinking the discarded accreditation at Fulham or the "damaged" directors box TV.

Hes a dream for lazy journalism because you don't really have to dig too much to unearth material that can keep you in business for ages which is where the Athletic seem to be at present.

The reality is most clubs employ a team of people to oversee recruitment that fits in with the long term strategic goals set by the owner.

Most owners who aren't batshit crazy like Fawaz steer clear of football operations because, get this, they're not actually very good at identifying a player who's the right fit for the club.

The fact Junior can still unilaterally try to buy a rubbish player in a position we don't need on behalf of a manager who expressed the desire to work with a smaller squad after wasting £7m on Jesse Lingard last year tells you everything you need to know.

We are not a normal, run of the mill club. If we were we wouldnt sign 15+ players every bloody year. They never learn.

Why is everyone assuming Miltiadis was pushing for this deal? Has that been reported anywhere?

Fair enough. Perhaps we should be glad he was at an event at the City Ground with Evangelos yesterday. Maybe he was distracted enough to stop getting this over the line!

Maybe that was the point of the conference, to keep him busy so he couldn't sign anyone?

Well fluck a duck, so this was a last-minute potential panic signing by the Greeks, who could have guessed it? :ROFLMAO:

Syrianos sacked for signing Awoniyi, yet every window we have Marinakis "family" connections looking to sign players far worse and keep running on an infinite lives cheat.

What hope do we have as a club if the "King" who runs it can't even keep his own in line?

Yeah EM junior should have f*** all to do with anything. That’s only ever going to end in tears. Perhaps getting our knackers wrapped by FFP would be a wake up call. Doubt it.

I don't think that it is a bad thing if he tosses a few ideas on potential signings, but that is all. Those suggestions should be investigated and then decided based on merit, because it is always in the realms of possibility he comes up with someone that no one else really considered. Actively working on signings on what seems like a whim would be a massive problem though for sure.

Yes but he still almost got in chuckup assburp who is almost the definition of a non-scoring striker. One purple patch at Boro under Carrick and has been utter TP elsewhere.

Good job it didn't happen

Nah we are past that now. Core squad is in place.

I disagree. You are looking for improvements all the time. Getting suggestions from every part of the club is to me perfectly acceptable, but leave it to the experts on players to decide if that suggestion is right for the club.

Unilateral signings of players without any consultation with the scouts or current manager? Yeah. That is garbage and frustrating.
