It makes me laugh how fickle football supporters are, ourselves included. This guy was getting lumped in with Jonjo shelvey 4 hours ago. 1 goal later, albeit an important goal and a good goal, he's the f***ing Messiah. Chris wood is a 3rd choice prem striker for the level we're currently aspiring to be. We absolutely need another striker to compete with/play with Taiwo. That's not to say Chris wood is shit, because he clearly isn't but lets be real.

Totally agree, and scoring one (very well taken) header doesn't mean he wasn't shit before.

Been quite amusing reading comments on this thread from a couple of days ago then transitioning to those from the end of last night's match.

What's also very telling in that video is Moussa's gestures to camera behind his back.
Us fans might not always be the best judges of a player but their teammates know how good they are and Moussa clearly wants everyone to know how good he thinks CW is.

Never associated him with Shelvey. Still think he is a poor fit for our system. But if he can clear @Gyros Peter bar of 4-5 goals coming from the bench, that's more than good enough.

What I think has made him look a black sheep in many posters eyes (including mine) is the 15m. (The Carvalho curse.) But that's because we are used to championship sums where 15m is difference-maker money. In the Prem, it's hit or miss at best. If 15m got us a 4-5 goal off the bench player that is a also a positive presence in the dressing room and is not constantly broken, that's a bargain.
