Quite possibly yes but he rejected it
Which you can't really blame him for.

He's been in the game long enough to know we'd have a struggle on our hands to integrate virtually a brand new squad so chose the easy life topping up his pension with the Middle Eastern tax-free cash.

Doubt he regrets his decision now either.

Can you imagine Lewis Grabban in this side that defends on edge of it's own box for 80 minutes whilst whacking the ball to fast man to chase it when we get it back?

Chris Wood levels of uselessness.

Chris Wood out for the rest of the season. Went on international duty with an injury and picked up an extra one for good measure. Not sure it's as good a piece of news as many might think.

Ridiculous.

That is 6 players with season ending injuries and a further 5 players who've been out 'most' of the season (i.e between 3 and 6 months).

11 players long term injuries.

What a terrible signing this has turned into.

Hopefully in the summer Cooper can work in his preferred system and integrate Wood in a much better way.

I don't particularly like going in on our own players, nor am I wanting to come accross as pining for the loanees we had last season but honestly it mystified me that someone at the club decided not to sign big Keinan for £15m and to sign this guy for £15m.

I was hopeful with Wood, thought he'd be a cheap loan or signing that we could bring on to mix things up with 30 minutes left.

What in fact happened is we got a player who looks absolutely shot in terms of his mobility, a player who doesn't fit what we try to do in an attacking sense and ended up paying about £20m for the pleasure (plus some fat wages no doubt).

The business to bring him and Shelvey to club us up there with the signing of Harry Arter.
