Well I'm off to the game now. Goodbye all and #PrayForWes (and Leicester, definitely Leicester, we need that man)

Don't worry. You can keep ode Wes. We've got Hobbs and Wilson. Far better.

Makes me smile how people think those two are miles ahead of Morgan. If they really are far better than him then they'll be the best two players in the league this season and are capable of playing for top ten sides in the PL.

At that age with that sort of ability Hobbs could also be worth something like £10m - makes you wonder how you got him for so little.

How are you making the claim that Morgan can play for a bottom ten PL side? Getting into the Championship Team of the Year does not mean he is a PL standard player. There's no evidence to base that on whatsoever, just as there is none for Hobbs and Wilson. Wes is a good player at Championship level but anything you say about his ability in the PL is purely hypothetical; presenting opinions as facts is not a good argument.

Your post is basically criticising Forest fans' exaggeration of our players' ability, when you are doing the exact same thing.

Sorry Harry, but it makes me smile how you think he is so much better than many. He's a decent Championship defender - but if he was as good as you claim he'd already been in the Premiership - and you'd not have lost to Watford in the playoffs.

You seem to forget we had the opportunity to watch him for years - And unless he suddenly took a quantum leap forward when he pulled on a blue shirt then he's barely a Premiership player because he cracks under real pressure of expectation.

I think I'm being fair when I say he was one of the better players in the Championship last season. So I don't think it's unreasonable to say he could make the step up. If he couldn't, as you suggest, then a promoted team would have to change their whole squad to avoid relegation as all of their players wouldn't be good enough. But we know from experience that a promoted club can indeed stay up by keeping their better players in the team. So I'm inclined to dismiss that idea.

You're right, my thinking is hypothetical but it's also fairly logical.

To be honest he seems to have done just that. Pearson has said he's surprised at how good he's been and didn't expect him to make the progress he has done. I know it's hard to believe but he seems a very different player to the one sometimes described on here. Bit like Jamie Vardy for us, massive strides forward this season.

And btw, one good player doesn't win you a PO semi final against Watford. He isn't Messi.

PS - I probably do exaggerate his ability at times but that's partly because he seems so underrated on here that I feel the need to big him up to balance it out.

Where's me hammer?
We have seen him play in red for 500 odd games in red whereas you have for 50 odd in blue, like others have said he aint gonna have improved that much working under pearson for him to be able to make the step up to the big league. For me hes a good championship defender but as a footballer he really aint that good, give him the ball and time to think and hes very limited. Im sure youd find 99% of forest fans would have hobbs or wilson over wes anyday of the week and thats not because hes a leicester player but because thats the opinion held from witnessing him in that 500 odd games. Now if you were comparing him to collins then its wes hands down but like i say hobbs and wilson have more in the locker.

Of course, he could make the step up, that wasn't my point or my suggestion. My point was that you were presenting it as a fact that Wes is a PL-standard player when in truth you have no evidence to support what is nothing but conjecture on your part, just as the Forest fans were doing that amused you. I was simply pointing out the irony.

At university, your opinions will need to be presented and argued with evidence, not presented as blind facts. Luckily for you, I don't recall much in the way of work when I was a first year! I'm now a masters student and thoroughly jealous; you're in for the best three years of your life.

For what it's worth, I think Morgan's a good player with the potential to make the step up, providing he has a quicker partner in defence with a better eye for a pass; sadly, I'm not sure he will ever get the chance.

Watching Football League show, McGoldrick's goal was pretty good. I still have no doubt that if he stayed he would have continued to flop for us though.

Pearson was interested in Hobbs. 24 and already better than Wes. Wilson is just top quality as he showed in the Champs League.

In fairness from the clips shown he looked pretty good. Was never going to make it with us though. Just another striker who did nothing for us but has done well for other clubs.

But if wes was so good he would have been in the prem years ago wouldn't he? And he's 30 next year. He's a good championship defender but no more than that

It seems likely that he's improved since he's been here. He doesn't match the descriptions that many give him on here so I can only assume he's made some pretty rapid progress, our manager thinks so too.

Wes has been one of the best CBs if not the best for about the last 3 years, still a cracking player with the ability to make in the lower half of the PL I'd say.

That said, Hobbs and Wilson look absolutely inmense, and are both younger. We've come out best on that deal

Pretty sure qpr are going to be top two, but I'd say the other spot is up for grabs. Wigan have the players if they get it together, but could be distracted by Europa league. Even Blackburn could come good. Bolton and reading not made very strong starts. Sure Blackpool will probably fade. At the moment were prob a top 6 side but need more for top 2
