Dodgy as anything that. Can't believe the lucky twats have got back in. I was hoping it began a chain reaction in the demise of Scottish Football

Seems ridiculous and harsh, but the premise was set in a few of the African World Cup qualifiers where the same thing happened. 3-0 win to the 'wronged' team is standard. Hopefully it'lll teach Warsaw not to be a bunch of f***ing idiots next time! This stuff just shouldn't happen at a professionally run organisation.

Of course it would. How does the fact that it's Celtic in particular have anything to do with it?

It doesn't. Legia have f**ked it up, plain and simple.

Did you see how long ago the ban was issued? To be fair they probably didn't realise. His name on the team sheet should be flagged before.

Joke of a club. Their attendance numbers have dropped dramatically since Rangers demise. They aren't bothered by football.

I'm sure the tax man has their number too, not long before they're gone, especially when they're out of the CL consistently.

Surely this will get overturned. It was clearly a genuine mistake and the lad played such a minke part in a game that was absolutely dead and buried. To potentially lose out on millions and millions it is a disgrace to be perfectly honest.

My thoughts exactly.

I doubt it was done on purpose and should have been flagged when the team lists were put in

If it was forest in celtic's situation i would obviously take it but it would feel a bit of a hollow victory. If it was a close game and the player had played a significant part of the match then fair enough but they were so well beaten and the lad couldn't have played less of a part. I think they will take it to arbitration and win.

I disagree. Rules are rules, whether you break them by accident or not! I highly doubt it'll be overturned either.

Fair enough viewpoint. I understand that stance. Have there not been precedents set though that legit could argue with? I know there have been in our leagues. Not sure about uefa controlled European competitions.

Rules also need updating and changing to reflect what is fair and isn't.

I would argue that it's unfair to field an ineligible player. Whether or not he had any effect on the game is pretty irrelevant. What if we play Fulham in the last match this season, winner goes up, and they field someone who was sent off in the previous match? If they said it was an accident and just got a fine we'd be absolutely raging! It's the same principle here.

Not if we were losing 6-1 and he came on for 3 minutes. I would be more angry that we had bottled a big game.

Thing is it's happened before apparently where the side were still allowed to remain in the tournament as it was decided they were already well ahead in the game, how on earth is this any different then, as Celtic were getting their arses kicked and he only came on for the last few minutes,a double standard there and it's well harsh? They will take a pasting anyhow.

This sounds very harsh on Legia Warsaw when you read why he was considered ineligible -

Bereszynski was sent off against Apollon in the final match of Legia’s Europa League campaign last season, earning a three-match suspension. He missed both legs of Legia’s tie against St Patrick’s in the second qualifying round and also sat out the 4-1 first-leg victory over Celtic. However, it has emerged that Bereszynski had not been registered in Legia’s squad for the second qualifying round, and so the matches did not count towards his suspension.

If you knew the player was suspended for the two second round games, logically you wouldn't register him as part of the squad for the second round games as he's banned.

Utter bollocks, they didn't register him in the first qualifier as he was banned?
