Putting 2 and 2 together and making 13.

I hope.

Sell a striker who scored 14 goals last season for 15 million

Buy a striker who scored 16 goals last season for 6 million

Yes from me.

Thought he was a target man. I remember him to be slow & cumbersome, he's also getting on a bit & he's none too prolific.

Not sure where he fits, or what he can do that Vellios can't.

Not a bad player, but £6m for a 30 year-old is rather steep. Would be a good signing for about £2-3m.

Vellios scored every 237 minutes, Jerome every 186 (with 9 assists on top), Assombalonga every 134.

But I don't like the panic of "let's buy a proven goal scorer for a hefty price because the fans complain".

Depends on what's happening with Vellios, but in isolation I think he'd be a good signing. At a club full of biscuits he's averaged 40 appearances/season over the past 3 seasons.

Since Aug 14 in the league Britt made 47 starts for us; Jerome made 82 starts 33 subs since signing for Norwich a few weeks later than Britt did for us.

Scores 1 in 3 so average goal record, but a good target man. An I prefer not relying on one player too.

Granted 6m is a bit steep for a 30 year old, but think he's strengthen the squad significantly, and add some much, much, much needed reliability & and an extra tactical option.

6m would leave me happy he's come, but feeling a bit cheated on price. 2-3m and I'd be well chuffed. Not the type of player to make us promotion contenders, but the type who'd definitely play a big part in keeping us up.

Oh, I don't know.

Scarlett Johanssen is 32, and I'd gladly pay £6m for her.

Fair point, but also...

Buy a player for £5 mil and sell for £15 mil*

Buy a player for £5 mil and sell for £0

*probably less than £5 mil profit after deductions, but hey

I doubt he'd give a shit about playing for Forest. Twilight years approaching, golf course beckoning. Please tell me that we have the capacity to learn.

Jerome's attitude & workrate have always been spot on. Most of Norwich's squad shammed out early 2017 when they hit a bad run, and he was one of the few who dug in every game and could hold his head up proud.

He's ideal for what we need to avoid slipping out the league. It's just the 6m price which stings a bit. But I'd sooner be 9m in profit & stay up, than 15m in profit & go down.

Don't particularly want both of Murphy and Jerome. Especially not if Jerome costs 6m.

If I scored with Scarlett Johanssen, I'd probably miss the entire season with a serious groin strain.

If we sign him then it appears not.

There seems to be something in the water at the City Ground, doesn't matter who is the owner or who is the manager we keep doin stoopid sheet over and over again.

He would be a very low-risk signing in terms of expected performance. Knows the league, knows his job and generally does it very well. I'd be happy with him as the more top end Championship players we have, the better. We don't have that many at the moment.

But if Norwich want to keep him, as the article says, he'd cost a fair bit, and I'm not sure it would be a sensible use of money.

His wages must be quite hefty too.

If we are going to splash out a lot of money on a striker, I'd be asking Palace about Connor Wickham. He'd improve us, score goals and still have sell-on value.
