You have to assume our Brazilian contingent of Danilo, Murillo, Felipe and Santos gives us some advantage in attracting others to sign, not to mention Boly and Tavares also speaking Portuguese.

Whether it's enough to ward of Newcastle, who knows, but I like the ambition.

That's my thinking. Obviously Newcastle have bigger money hats than us, but is he really displacing both Isak and Wilson? Seems unlikely in the short term. Whereas the examples of Danilo and particularly Murillo show that for us, if you're good enough you can be a starter.

In the current season, Marcos Leonardo has shown his value on the field, playing 43 games for Santos, in which he scored 21 goals and provided 4 assists. In the Brazilian Championship, he accumulated 13 goals in 25 matches, demonstrating his ability to find the net frequently. Furthermore, the striker had the opportunity to represent the Brazilian team at the U20 World Cup, where he scored 5 goals in 5 games, despite Brazil's elimination in the quarter-finals against Israel.
