There is one report from someone who appears to be a legit journalist that states he's opened negotiations with spurs. Also said that they paid above the release clause, which I don't understand, as surely the player can decide where he wants to go.
People do seem to be definitively saying that if we'd just met the release clause he'd be ours, which could be (and is likely) utter bollocks.
