Anyone got a mini highlight reel of him from last night or am I waiting on Mr Henshaw to provide? :)

It was a very easy run out for Brennan last night , He hardly broke into a sweat, Not the knackered player we see after 80 minutes at Forest , He didn't see much of the ball as Wales are shite and spent most of the time jogging around which was a good thing for us.
But when he was given the ball he didn't disappoint, Looked a class act sadly the other players weren't on his wavelength half the time.
Setup the goal and created all the other dangerous attacks for Wales , Him, Ramsey and Bale would/will have made a fantastic trio , Brennan looked mentally and physically very sharp and will be on fire at Blackpool on Saturday.

Orta says Leeds tried to sign Brennan when he was 16. I knew Everton wanted him at the time.

It seems only a matter of time before he’s plying his trade in the top flight, although Orta has now admitted that Johnson might well have been a Leeds player had things panned out differently. In an interview with Marca, the Elland Road chief outlined his vision for bringing young players on board to the club, adding that they made a bid to sign the winger when he was still a teenager.

“We have a project with the full support of the entire board of directors and the CEO,” he said. “I identified that we had to anticipate and develop the ‘Anticipate Project Talent’ project with my scouting group of English people, who are the best in England.

“We had to reach the player much earlier because if we expected the player to make his debut, he would have minutes in the Championship. Like Brennan Johnson now, he is a new Welsh international, the best young player in the English second division, he is already at 20.

“My model was to have reached Brennan Johnson when he was 16 and we tried. But it could not be. It could have been Greenwood, Gelhardt, Lewis Bate… We have paid for these players between one and two million, so we reached about 20 players”.

Arrogant bastard. Its hardly a "business model" to sign other peoples best players when they are worth nothing. You honestly couldn't make this shit up. The whole point of academies is to work your socks off with talented kids in the hope that 1 in 25 gets to the top level. Theres no short cuts and stealing other peoples talented kids when they are still very young should be banned...

How does that work if the kids are in Northern Ireland, for example? is that different?

I understand it’s not a very sophisticated argument I am making but you can forgive me for reacting to the arrogant suggestion/business model tgat everyone else acts as a feeder for Leeds United to exploit “value”.
He can f*** off!

It's the way of the football chain and there's nothing wrong with clubs looking for value, whether that be in academy player or senior pros.

It's part of our business model, without looking I'd guess that around the 50% of our u23s and 18s are not from Nottingham and were signed from other clubs.

That's football these days, Signe em young and hope for the best, it's worked fairly well for us although the majority of our most successful players are local lads, Cash and Brereton being the 2 exceptions I can think of.

Always makes me laugh when people say "I tried to sign X player when he was young", it's like they have to justify how good they are at spotting talent.

I bet he tried to sign loads of players.

Wenger always used to bleat on about players he didn't sign.

Added another million to his price tag.

He is going to make us a cash rich club whatever happens.

If we go up we keep him and the Prem millions.

If we don't go up he's going to fetch a huge price.

You almost want to see Wales qualify for the World Cup, to see how he performs on that stage.

Wales or Ukraine anyway :D

Properly humiliated the GK and defence today, controlled the GKs woeful pass really well, Megged the defender, then lobbed the GK

If you wanted to find fault with Brennan this season you could probably argue his finishing needed work.

Both of his goals today though were brilliantly taken. Properly clinical.

He's a Rolls Royce and they don't come along very often. We should enjoy him while we have him.
