The circus around football will always mean someone knows someone (ad infinitum) who knows the person. It could be as small as a text asking if you're looking at options, open to leaving, to agents for the club talking to agents of the player. All of that avoids "tapping up" as it has to be direct, from club to player All clubs do it, hence you hear very little about it nowadays. The current rules are a bid has to be made to allow contact. You could make a one penny bid. Forest did it with so many last season- small offers so they could officially approach someone without breaking rules.
I’m not specifically worried about Brentford. In fact I’m not that worried in general if the money on the table ends up high enough. If anyone is seriously worried about BJ going to Brentford (yes Brentford) they need to chill the f*** out ,
It's when we're getting the £60m plus bids from top 6 that we start discussions.
Brentford??
He’s the “Head of Football“ at Brennan’s agency, the one of two other listed staff is Brennan’s mate from school. He’s involved.I think we need to be fair to David Johnson when we're all jumping to conclusions and suggesting he may be responsible for all this because a quick peruse of the internet suggests that he is not his son's agent (anymore) and has no obvious stakeholding in the organisation which is?
Isn't DJ head of football at Footwork, Brennan's agent?a quick peruse of the internet suggests that he is not his son's agent (anymore) and has no obvious stakeholding in the organisation which is?
It’s part of the game and also NECESSARY if we are to grow as a club. We'd better get used to our best players generating interest if we are going to kick on. I'm braced for a summer of speculation...
Brennan either wants to go (to Brentford or anywhere else) or him or his 'people' are using Brentford as a pawn to get more money here. If he's on a fraction of what Shelvey and Wood are on for example then I don't blame him.If anyone is seriously worried about BJ going to Brentford (yes Brentford) they need to chill the f*** out ,

Brentford??
Depends it’s it all factual that he’s on 30k pw, we gave Shelvey 65k pw, MGW could be nearer 80k pw.Why would he go now rather than a year and a half ago when we were in a division below when the same club bid 15 then 20mill. Brentford were far more attractive when they were in a higher division, i don’t get the logic that all of a sudden he wants to go.
Naaah, don’t see it that way Omar.Obviously Brennan is up for the move as Brentford have been given the encouragement they need to make a formal bid.
This episode is fuelled by it.all that is speculation
I mean in all honesty I'd started to process the fact that Beckhams son has just signed permanently for Brentford and the connection that Brennan/DJ and Beckham have before I realised I'm a step away from sitting under the stairs with tin foil on my head talking about aliens interfering with my wifi! This episode is fuelled by it.
And probably flavoured with cynicism and paranoia.
I think there is something in this, more the fact Brennan, or should I say his dad, is pushing the bar in terms of contract earnings.
£30k p/w compared to others? Seems a reasonable push back to me tbf.
Needs a new deal or he is off for 50mil
He negotiated a new deal last July.If he is on half what the so called ex Newcastle clowns are on I wouldn't be happy either and certainly if his mate MGW is reportedly on more.
Brennan deserves a rise in wages he helped us to promotion, loves Nottingham and Nottingham Forest, went in the deep end in the Premiership and has showed his worth to us and now attracting further attention.
Similar to Brice last summer. Wasn’t he on a quarter of what hovarth was on and about a twentieth of what his eventual replacement was on!!If he is on half what the so called ex Newcastle clowns are on I wouldn't be happy either and certainly if his mate MGW is reportedly on more.
