Great debut from the lad on Saturday and quality goal. Took it like a top striker.

Great loan signing from you boys it appears.

Nick.

Always rated Moloney, he will do well in League two.
Hope he breaks into the Forest team

He is a cracker.

Given our shortages in defence I'm rather peeved we loaned him out, to be honest.

Both were good goals, seems to get some confidence in him and get up there if they're winning comfortably twould seem!

He's an outstanding player, in my opinion.

Great defender, and really enables build up play from the back. Anyone remember Garner's goal against Southampton? All came from Moloney.

When we played County, I don't think many people would have been able to tell which defender cost nearly £2m and which one had been deemed not good enough for his team.

He brings goals, but is also able to do his job as a right back. He's definitely one who will climb through the leagues. Over the course of his loan, I think his value will become very apparent.

I thought you said he would be in the england squad by now, a couple of seasons a go. :D :)

Seriously though, I don't understand how he hasn't been able to sustain a place in the first team, perhaps this load is to toughen him up a bit more than anything . He has impressed near enough every time I have seen him, and rarely does much wrong when he is called into the first team.

I think he could improve some parts of his game. He's not very strong, not a great header of the ball and very quiet. Still very young though and a season with Country will improve him no end.

He's no Luke Chambers, though.

I think the Irish U21s might have something to say about that lol

Actually I said Ireland squad, which I believe he is, or at least in the U21s.

Beagrie seems to rate him

Ahh, Peter Beagrie, the latest in a long-line of pundits who, despite being excellent footballers, could have their knowledge of the game condensed onto the back of a postage stamp.

So very true.

Loaning him out to the Pigsties made no sence at all, given our lack of defensive cover. He'd have been superb cover for Gunter, and they could have learnt a lot from each other.

A future Irish international, I'm telling you.

lol Serves me right for trying to be a clever sod. I see, he does have bags of potential, just wish he would get a chance here :(

it says in the Evening post "Brendan Moloney goal was a delightful crowning moment to a wonderful display. It was great to see a right back with such adventure and composure when it mattered. If Forest have a better left back i would like to see him "

::) What stupid comments by James Pallatt (NEP Notts County Reporter)

Obviously a football man. It's one thing getting another clubs player position wrong. But when he's playing at your club !

Davies' biggest mistake so far loaning him out.Not sure if there's ever going to be room for him by the time he comes back and I can see those lot making it permanant with wealth behind them now :(

I fully agree with you.

I came on this thread to say exactly that. Though at the same time, Maloney in the media will definatly come under Billy Davies radar.Which he definatly wasn't when Bill first arrived.

I can imagine Billy to have been told about Brendon in the same way he would have been Emile Sinclair or Matt Thornhill.

I will sit here and say with complete honesty, that in quite a few of the games Maloney played, I thought he was an easy nomination for MOTM.

That comment makes no sense!!!

"Lee Camp made a great save, if Derby have a better left Winger than him, I would like to see him!"

I think perhaps the article means right back, not left back. It's a simple error.
