Not willing to spend the best part of an hour listening to a podcast so I'll just tell you all you need to know about Billy Davies - a short Scottish sociopath who just happens to motivate football players rather well.

Certainly did a great job motivating Blackpool's players in this case.

It's a shame, Billy would be a fantastic manager if he wasn't such an egotistical prat.

Unbelievable. He did the same at Preston against Leeds. Say “job done” to a Leeds fan, they’ll know exactly what you mean.

Heffing Psycho!

Was sat in the pub with a mate of mine ahead of the second leg and as the team news came through he said "I'll eat my hat if DJ Campbell scores in this match." Still waiting on that three course meal.

Classic KING Billy. So confident, self-assured, optimistic, bullish, buoyant and all that type of thing. A real one-off.

He did do it at Preston too.

So, not really wanted to start this thread because of what it might descend into, it still needs to be brought to light what this little story says about the man who was in charge at that time:

That’s hilarious.

Davies and his ego will be happy because those Blackpool players will always remember his rousing team talk which helped them to win against us the play offs.

I like the bit where he recounts how Wes Morgan said, “Billy lost us that game”.

You could argue that he lost us the play off against Swansea too.

lol. Motivation can be achieved in numerous ways. Being worried about what might happen to you in bed at night works as well as many others.

Even Flampard has a better play off match win percentage.

This thread is such a breath of fresh air. It's been f***ing rank hearing false praise for playoff failures like AK & Dougie for years now. Absolute bliss to hear a proper & our most successful manager this past decade get slated again.

Just to be talking about him again makes everything feel right. As if we're no longer so against doing well.

I feel even the vibe of Billy can help MON & the club push on to glory this year. It's part of our beloved DNA & blood all coming together at the right time

Soon wrongs will be righted, and we will be our best again :nottsflag:

Some would take him back even in the knowledge that he is as big a twat as the game has seen. There’s little point in getting to the play offs if you implode embarrassingly when you get there. What an utter wanker.

Better than spending 25m, not getting to the playoffs, and still imploding.

By our standards Billy is a true hero.

No, to you Billy is a hero. To me and many others he’s a cnut and always will be.

One thing is guaranteed: These owners will never employ Davies.

Has anybody employed him since he skulked out of the ground with his bag of cash,or are we still paying his wages to stay at home?
