Beware of Cercis Canadensis

My Missus is a keen gardener and when we were around at the home of my Dirty Leeds mate she heaped praise on his “Cercis canadensis”, before stupidly telling him it's common name, which is “Forest Pansy”.

Needless to say he ripped the piss rotten about this.

Beware.

No but he has a huge garden with a private lake.

Don't, Ive got it all on with Japanese knotweed at the moment.

Cut it down to about a foot anytime now , and spray the hollow stems with a decent gypholpgate , Rosate or similar from Amazon or eBay , Burn the rest of it you cut off, give it another dose in a few weeks time, and if showing signs of growth , you may need to do it all again next year but hopefully you should have it under control.

We inherited two clumps in our fields, noting France is covered in it.

It took me four years of poisoning down the stems to kill the big clump.

The small clump I cleared in two years but now it has made comeback after two years of being non-existent.

It's a bastard.

It's the root network. I'm pretty sure the guidelines and the excavate a 8m radius and 2m down. I'm going to be supervising a fencing next to the A38 and I'm sure that is what has been specced by design.

Either way it's a bastard.
