I commented on Grabban's thread yesterday about him potentially being the best Forest striker we've had since 2000 and while I think he's got a good case, I'd be interested in the debate with the rest of you on who for you, is the best striker we've had since the 1999-2000 season?
Is it Grabban? Britt? Earnie? Johnson? Freedman? Holt etc and why you would pick them as your best?
Johnson
He had that one great season in 2002 for us, but over the six seasons, bit disappointing to be honest.
Freedman
Had more or less the same goal return in the Championship as the Prem for us, went back to Palace and scored for fun so he's out, for me.
Earnshaw
Shone under Billy, hit double figures twice at the club, 43 goals in 111 games.
Poacher, THAT celebration. More or less performed well for the entirety of his time here.
Assombalonga
He had terrible luck with his injury in his second season with us but hit 15 and 14 goals either side of that injury.
Ended up with 30 in 69 games. He could poach but also was good running at Defenders too.
Grabban
46 goals in 125 games. Double figures in his first two seasons, disappointing third season but he has 3 in 10 this season which is like 12-13 goals on average.
While Johnson had the highest number in a season, Earnie got us into the playoffs twice and Assombalonga made us the most profit, I have to give it to Grabban personally.
He's older than all the others were but still performing to a good level. The 3m we paid for Earnie 13 years ago is probably around the same amount now we paid for Grabban.
If Grabban lasts the season, he'll likely end up with the most appearances for us out of all the strikers i've named too.
