Now all that unsavoury stuff is out the way, surely worth a punt, non?

No thank you. He may have been found not guilty but he will never shake off the fact he was accused of it which will follow him to whichever club signs him.

Now I understand the true meaning of "no smoke without fire".
Tried before his peers and found not guilty, but because of "no smke without fire" his character is besmirched for ever.
Is he any good?

INB4 innocent before proven guilty and all that chat. He looks a right prick. Commons wasn't guilty of anything either. Apart from being a prick.

Some of my best and oldest mates are absolute scum and villains. There's also some right c**ts on here but, who am I to judge(?).

Political point in general, I am quite ignorant of any of the ins and outs of this case I must admit, but I just find it a bit broken that somebody can be found not guilty of something & basically the only difference between a guilty and not guilty charge would make career wise would be he would be in jail.

I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole because of the PR implications that come with but is that right if he was found not guilty after all?

Absolutely not for me. The criminal nature of his decisions may be disputable (and I certainly don’t want to be the guy to imply guilt to someone who’s innocent), but enough came out to make me concerned about his character and commitment.

No one is perfect, but I find the idea of some playing for our team a little tougher than others

Not guilty doesn't necessarily mean innocent, it just means there's not enough evidence to convict.

Rape cases are notoriously low conviction rate because it often ends in one word against another.

Legally he may have got off his charges but his actions around the whole thing leave a lot to be desired. Big no from me.

I think he should leave football and move into a more holistic industry such as helping treat mental conditions through verbal communication. Then he could have a sign on his office door saying Benjamin Mendy - TheRapist.
