Ayala, Sam back soon......

Quite a revealing interview from Billy. We all know how good Hutchinson is, and with Ayala coming back will these be the extra defensive players we need to sure us up? (New signings yeah) Though, of all the comments, one in particular caught my eye. Plus, Isn't Sam's contract up with Chelsea at the end of the season. If he can stay fit he could be a shrewd permanent addition!

''Jonathan Greening is a fantastic player''. He has come in for a lot of critisism since he signed, but can we take that as Jonno's career hasn't yet even started with us yet? Billy has obviously spotted something in him that can enhance the team, possibly the McKenna role?

It will be an interesting few weeks!

Would be a huge bonus to get Ayala and Hutchinson back.

That's been the problem all along with Greening - that he's been viewed as a McKenna replacement when in fact he's nothing like him.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Greening play the odd away game, or come on when we need to slow things down. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out, but I'm certain Billy's backroom staff can get a damn sight more from him than McClaren's could.

I've never seen him play so only got a mental image of the kind of player he is. What role does he fill?

To be honest , Can Hutchinson knee really hold up for a long season ? I am not convinced it can. What he has is degenerative , he has knee problems since young.
He's a good defender but what's the point of having him when he can play like only 5-10 matches per season. Ayala is another one , decent enough defender but so injury prone that it's simply not productive and a waste of money to keep paying him to have treatment instead of playing.

Exactly, I think Hutchinson would be about the best player at the club if he was fit but as he never will be...

Same goes for Ayala.

Ayala is incredibly mistake prone as well as being made of damp cardboard.

I actually think that Ayala is a better defender than Ward but problem is , Ayala is always injured and he has to take a while to adjust back to playing once he's fit and can be vulnerable during that time but by the time he settled in , he gets injured again and he restart all over again.

Greening? Similar style of midfielder to Carrick. "Quaterback" is how some term it.

If there are any highlights from the cup game against County last season that's a good one to see him play in.

Be interesting to see if this improves at all under Davies.

I don't. The fact that Collins was seen as the more reliable of the two speaks volumes for me. I think Ward now looks a very capable Championship defender alongside Halford. The midfield needs to give the defence more protection though.

Ive never really understood this about Hutchinson, from the games ive seen him in he looks a good players but its only been a few games.

we've never seen him under pressure or how he deals with a turn in form.

To say he could be the best player at the club seems just a bit premature to me.

Indeed but I don't think I or anyone else said he is our best player.

The problems he had recently aren't down to his knee.. it was a bad reaction to some stuff the Chelsea medical team have him

From the times I've seen them play together, I've always felt that Ayala is a much better and more reliable centre back than Collins. On another note, I'm surprised by Billy Davies' decision to drop Collins, however it has been a good one.

Its more maybe depending on fitness but like I said its talk of could be, I just think its a bit premature from the fact he has only started about 5 games.

Haven't the majority of Hutchinson's injury problems being due to 'alleged' 'well publicised' mistreatments?

I'd love Halford and Hutchinson to be our CB pairing. He oozed class at the start of the season and he is a top character. Ayala on the otherhand is a miserable bastard who doesn't seem interested in playing for Forest.

From what I saw Hutchinson absolutely has the ability to be a Premiership quality defender - without any doubt. But sadly it looks like a Ledley King scenario to me.

Greening is obviously a quality player, he hasn't ever quite showed that for us but his career speaks for itself on that front. On top of that he has captained some very good sides, a proper leader maybe?

I suppose Davies is more likely than anyone to get the best out of him, if he can get into form and into the starting line up then great because if he is anywhere near as good as his West Brom days we have another very good midfielder on our hands.

As Hutch, I hope he gets fit and comes back because there is no doubt he is a class player. As much as that Jara has been OK, I think he has his moments of being a bit of liability a bit too frequently.

Hutchinson, if fit in his entire career so far, would be in the England squad most of the time. He's been given chances under Chelsea managers, and the fact that England squads are 'big club bias', he would've made it. Quality player, would love him back.

Ayala is good too, but just needs to remain fit. Billy would get the best out of him.

If Hutchinson could stay fit, he'd be great and would love to keep him. But realistically, not sure he could.

Send Ayala back though, regardless of his fitness

Hutchinson looks great, but is just so broken.

I hope he sorts out of his career, but I'd rather rely on Jara to be honest.
