Antonio Day

With the last game of the season next week against Cardiff now being nothing more than an end of season exhibition match, why don't we have a bit of fun whilst showing appreciation for our player of the season?

We have seen it done in good humour previous when Wednesday visited a few years back and had Semedo day.

Ideas include Antonio face masks ( don't think blacking up is acceptable these days!) And lots of red balloons as this goes well with his chant.

Remember this may be the last chance we get to see him terrorising defences in a Forest shirt so let's show the lad we appreciate his efforts in a season where he has singlehandedly carried us for much of the season.

I think a few players were sensitive to the weight of adulation heaped on Stuart Pearce. Since his departure the fans have made a conscious effort to share the love from the stands & its worked to good effect. Im not sure putting someone on a pedestal again last game of the season is not counterproductive.
I understand the sentiment though.

I think we should make it a day for the team, not just one player. Because Antonio alone is useless. It is about the players around him, too, even if it's Antonio's contribution that is more on the radar.

A day for the team?

I'll give the f***ers a day they won't forget.

We have enough injury problems without you going all Jason Statham on them. Calm down.

Which reminds me that Jason Statham is a Forest fan. I wonder if he has ever been on here.

He isn't.

The man himself has publicly debunked that rumour.

Thats ok, I trust you, I don't want to see his stupid face, I don't like him now.
I will not be illegally downloading anymore of his films to watch either.
He's a below average actor and can go to hell.

How about the team give a day to the long suffering fans? Why can't they do something to make the fans who pay their wages and put up with some pretty shitty performances feel appreciated? Rather then just lapping up the adulation it would be nice to see players doing more to show they are not just a bunch of self-serving, self-obsessed spoiled mercenaries.

Nice idea, but it's not like they're paid from taxpayers' money. If fans don't get any enjoyment from going then they can easily stop paying to do so, as many seem to be doing.

You wouldn't get angry if you had paid to see a rubbish film in the cinema and expect to receive a nice message from the actors to make up for it in the credits.

A fairly tenuous analogy there.

Why wouldn't the players want to show their appreciation to the fans after another underwhelming season that has still seen some of the highest attendances in the league? A couple of hours out of their day to meet and greet supporters after the match would hardly be a stretch for instance.

It's not as if they need to stay focussed for the playoffs...

They do do that a lot.

They will be to busy drinking important things to worry about the mugs that pay their wages.
